There are over seven billion people on earth, and sustaining the planet is becoming more of a struggle. Pollution is not a new occurrence, but it started too changed rapidly after World War II. After the war, industries began to use synthetic materials such as plastics and inorganic pesticides. These materials are toxic because they are not perishable and accumulate in the environment. I feel that the way we are treating the planet is doing more harm than good. We cannot continue with this type of behavior it can lead to unwanted consequences.
When I think about conserving our natural resources, the first thing that pops into my mind is reducing the amount of pollution in the atmosphere. The thing about pollution is that no one is given a

Littering can have such a negative impact on the environment and is a contributing factor to pollution. Sometimes we cannot even consciously realize that we attributing to the problem. We are becoming too busy with our work, school, and person life’s to care about picking up after ourselves. I think that’s the biggest mistake we are making because it will eventually come back to haunt us. Everyone has moments when they litter is can the smallest thing like unraveling a piece of gum and throwing the wrapper on the floor. Sometimes we litter because were too lazy to find a trash can. If I’m out with my friend and we grab a burger on the way home. When I’m done eating my burger, instead of finding a trash can, we are more likely to throw it on the ground. But, that same burger wrapper that I aimlessly threw on the ground can end up in a dog’s stomach. At the time when I threw the wrapper on the ground not one thought cross my mind about an animal accidentally mistaking the wrapper for food. The action at the time does not seem like a harmful action that will cause repercussions. These repercussion can include affecting animals, whether it’s their eating habits or living conditions. Animals can also die from getting entangled with the items we throw into the environment or
Case Study - Corporate Obstacles to Pollution Prevention. Overview This case focuses on corporate obstacles to pollution prevention. Pollution prevention can be complex, especially for large corporations. There are many different forms of pollution prevention, including emissions control devices and incremental changes in existing technology.
Today, we take many of our natural resources for granted without think about the consequences. For example, cutting down trees, burning fossil fuel, and the consumption of meat. Our ozone layer is becoming weaker and weaker to due factories burning too much fossil fuel. This causes too much carbon dioxide, which affects our ozone layer. If we can limit the amount of natural resources we use on a daily basis, we will be able to see a big change in society.
First, i will be telling you about littering. First, the litter could blow away and go in the ocean and hurt the fish. Next, people could step on the litter and trip, and break something in their body. Last, when people litter it could also hurt the animals that live in the parks like plastic six pack rings that hold Soda cans together they could choke small ducks. Those are some things about littering.
That is why there have been various legislations drawn up to combat air pollution from past to present. It has been studied by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that the Clean Air Act is an important act needed to reduce the extensive rates of morbidity and mortality, associated among groups such as children and suffers of chronic lung diseases. (Angvall,2009) From the constant revision for an amendment one would think clean air was a prioritized need and not a privilege to the people of this Nation. Not likely, the mere thought of saving the atmosphere has been taken for granted. On a day-to-day basis we are surrounded by pollution in the United States it maybe an old clunker emitting a trail of carbon monoxide from its tailpipe, a smoker taking his or her daily smoke break in their designated smoking area, or the town factory that just n...
Did you ever look outside your window and see the beauty of the Earth? People should stop littering because it can cause damage to animals, animals get sick and eventually die, the trash affects the animal's body. It is proven that animals get hurt because we are bad at throwing trash in the garbage can. Additionally littering is bad because animals get hurt and sick from the trash. Furthermore owners of their pets do not want to them to get hurt. Some owners don’t care about their pets and don’t care if they get hurt or sick. But I believe every owner should be concerned about littering.
Pollution: Are Humans Doing Enough to Stop It? The sad reality is that each day the amount of pollution is increasing, while the lifespan of the earth and the health of its organisms is deteriorating. Manpreet sandhu A picture of a factory in China releasing contaminated smoke (Ackerman).
Pollution is affecting many individuals and life, as we know it. We need to do something about how it’s affecting our world. That’s why I urge the issue that more people should realize that pollution is an issue that needs to be prevented because of its negative consequences. Which are health affects, the total destruction of environments, and the death of animals and plants. More awareness must be brought up amongst the people and they must realize the long-term benefits it has for the world.
Every day when looking out a window, people see a beautiful earth. The earth is intriguing, but hinges on a delicate balance. Many natural resources keep the grass green and the sky blue. Man has made quite an impression on our world, and has transformed the earth's resources into tools to make life easy. However, mans' manipulation on earth has become detrimental to the health of our planet and the safety of mankind. Through the use and production of resources such as oil and energy, man is gradually poisoning the earth. Pollution has become such a dilemma in society; there is no real control or a feasible solution to society's recklessness. Without complete change, our system will collapse. The earth will eventually retaliate with disaster, or corporate control of our economy will cause hysteria and depression. Evaluation of the consequences and repercussion of worldwide pollution, may give people a better idea of what the future holds.
Today's waters are constantly being treated like sewage dumps or trash cans. We use them as garbage cans every day polluting the water more and more. "Pollution is often by way of rivers, drains and outflow pipes." Causing an outflow of sewage into our ocean waters. This is not only affecting the community but also the marine life and other sea creatures living in the ocean." This pollution includes human sewage and domestic waste water, factory outflows of acids and poisonous metals, engine oil from roadside drains and garages, farm chemicals washed off the land by rain, building-site rubble, nuclear waste from power plants, and oil from wells, refineries, and tankers." Stating that most of today's waste is from factory or factory ran products that shouldn't be polluting the water
Water pollution has been an increasing problem over the last few years. Pollution itself is when a substance or energy is introduced into the soil, air, or water in a concentrate. Pollution comes in many forms; agricultural, urban runoff, industrial, sedimentary, animal wastes, and leeching from landfills/septic systems just to name a few. These pollutants are very detrimental to the environment. Whether they are alone or combined with another form of pollution they are very harmful. Over the last hundred years the problems with pollution have been increasing with time. This is due to both the increase in human population, and the increases in technology we have made as a society. If we plan on having our resources here for many years to come we are going to have to make some drastic changes in the way we treat the earth, and these changes will have to start with our pollutants. (Jones,1993,pp.4-15)
...mproper way of disposing of waste and other materials. Littering not only impacts our environment but also many animals. Even though many people see littering being done they do not do anything to prevent this. One thing that may occur is that many of these wastes that are improperly disposed of finds its way to the ocean or other places. This is something that can be very dangerous for many aquatic creatures because they could think that it is food and this would cause them to choke on it and eventually die. A lot of people litter because they really have no idea of the damage that they are causing our environment. Another reason why people do this is because they are too lazy to dispose the materials into a proper trash can. Most of the litter that is being thrown on the ground eventually goes and finds its way into the sewers and goes into the oceans and lakes.
Air Pollution is when a poisonous or a harmful substance is released in the air. There are many form of pollution but air is one of them, it only occurs when dust, harmful gases or smoke enters into the atmosphere and makes it hard for species like plants, animals and humans to live in a difficult situation because of the dirty air.Air Pollution is classified in two sections, invisible air pollution and visible air pollution.. Hence any substance that makes it difficult for the living things that need the atmosphere is air pollution.Humans have been undergoing air pollution ever since the industrial revolution. In order to understand the causes of Air pollution, it is divided into divisions. Primary air pollutants and secondary air pollutants:
What is pollution? Pollution is a detrimental enemy to all species that walk on earth. It is a product of mankind carbon foot print on the environment. It consists of chemicals or particles in the air that can harm the health of humans, animals, and plants. Pollution occurs when pollutants contaminate the natural surrounding; which brings about changes that affect our normal lifestyles adversely. Pollutants are the key elements of pollution which are generally waste materials of dissimilar forms. Pollution disturbs our ecosystem and the balance in the environment. With innovation and development in our lives pollution has reached its peaks; giving rise to global warming and human illness. When raw materials, water, energy and other resources
Efforts to improve the standard of living for humans--through the control of nature and the development of new products--have also resulted in the pollution, or contamination, of the environment. Much of the world's air, water, and land is now partially poisoned by chemical wastes. Some places have become uninhabitable. This pollution exposes people all around the globe to new risks from disease. Many species of plants and animals have become endangered or are now extinct. As a result of these developments, governments have passed laws to limit or reverse the threat of environmental pollution.
We all belong to the same world and all of us have the same responsibilities towards the world and its environment. This fact might be hard to digest, but if we continue to pollute the Earth at the current rate, all of the world’s ocean waters will become one-hundred-thirty percent acidic. This means that the ocean will be unable to sustain most of its marine life and only a few creatures will be able to survive in the water. A big population of people think that they do not or have few responsibilities towards the environment. People think that the governor of a country should take steps to help the environment. They leave it to scientists since they have the technology to prevent pollution, or that is what most people think. There are more responsibilities to the world each individual has than most of realize. The amount of negligence and ignorance of humans towards the Earth is taking a heavy toll.
