A. Background
Since religion is the philosophy which attempts to understand the concepts involved in religious belief, the religious believers have to give they report such as experiences as those of being in the presence of God, or as being able to realize a timeless and eternal divine order in the universe (it made clear the concept of the religion). In contrast to what happened to the Javanese people who still believe in what they called natural phenomenon that influenced the spiritualism. They showed that there are still many cultural things that they believe as a God or they consider as the dependence that they believe and trust in their life.
Nyi or Nyai Roro Kidul is one of the natural phenomena that have become the spiritual phenomena that happened to the Javanese people, especially for those who live in the Southern Sea of Java like in Yogyakarta. From this concept of belief, it can be considered that the Javanese people admit the concept of deism.
Deism, a rationalist religious philosophy flourished in the 17th and 18th centuries, particularly in England. Generally, Deists held that a certain kind of religious knowledge (sometimes called natural religion) is either inherent in each person or accessible through the exercise of reason, but they denied the validity of religious claims based on revelation or on the specific teachings of any church. Deism can be similar to naturalism, where the concept of belief is still influenced by natural things. Therefore, Deism will often give praise to the formation of life and universe to a higher power that by designing allows only natural processes to control creation.
The decision to choose this topic is to present the issues of the natural spiritualism that develop behind the cultural belief that happen in Javanese belief of cultural phenomena Nyi or Nyai Roro Kidul. In addition, the mystery of several things that influence people to believe this cultural belief becomes the important part that will be explained.
As the main reason to be discussed, deism can be found in Javanese people life becomes the problem or the focused topic. The concept of Deism covers a wide variety of positions on a wide variety of religious issues. Deism can also refer to a personal set of beliefs having to do with the role of nature in spirituality.

Thomas Paine argued that there is happiness in Deism, when one rightly understood it concept. What makes Deism stood out from the rest of world religion, Is that Deist doesn’t need tricks to show miracles to confirm faith. He claimed that Deism brings happiness to it followers; unlike other religious believe systems where they restrain from reasoning and if the reasoning makes sense they will dispute against it. A man or a woman who able to think at all must restrains his/her own reason in order to force themselves into believe the teaching of that religion without questioning. Deist believes that the structure of the universe and everything we witness in the system of the creation of the world are far more convincing than any text or scriptures. Deists believe that by exercise their reason is what enabled them to contemplate God and His work. (Paine, 1794) Thomas Paine also mention that “man has wandered from the straight path of their duty and pursued of happiness, and become by turns the victim of doubt and the deceive of delusion from what people so called religion.” In the other extreme, the Evangelical Revival Methodist faithfully emphasizing the importance of the words of God and the commitment of the Holy Spirit in the beatification of the life of Christian followers. Deists were often perceives as pure rationalist that advocated nothing but reasoning, whereas Methodists were commonly identified as religious fanatic. (Heidinger, 1986) These two movements together often led to a great disagreement in the early 18th century. The focus will be on the types of religious beliefs and religious leaders, especially in small-scale societies. An exploration of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, or any other major religion is beyond the scope of this essay. The approach taken is that of cultural relativity--religious practices or beliefs are not evaluated in terms of their "correctness" or "sophistication" but, rather, in terms of their function within the societies that have them.

In addition, religion provides individuals a belief to which they understand their existence as well network of emotional support during times of distress. Much of what will be explored will fit his dimensions. The practical and ritual dimension can been seen in all three religions through worship and rituals and patterns of behaviour. The latter are those acts that help the believer develop spiritual awareness or ethical insight, such as yoga or meditation in Buddhism and Hinduism. The experiential and emotional dimension of religion explains that religion feeds on human emotions and key events from history to illustrate this is, the enlightenment of the Buddha, or the visions of Muhammad. A person will not follow something without meaning or emotion driving it. The narrative or mythic dimension of religion refers to the use of story telling in religion. Typically, all faiths use stories to illustrate their beliefs or events in history, whether they might be of things to come, or like in this essay, stories of the Buddha, or Muhammad. The use of story telling is important as the stories are often based on accounts of history or documents that have been found. Story telling can enhance the believers faith and are often integrated into rituals. The doctrinal and philosophical dimension of religion talks about the importance of the holy books/ doctrines. Since the doctrines typically have an account of the leaders life, and the leaders are usually educated, believers read the doctrines to gain an insight into the leaders life; and thus strive to become more like them or abide by their teachings. Bali is quite complex in their belief systems, especially when perceived by the western world. Their belief system is not comprised of a singular core religion, but of a sort of amalgam of various world religions. The religion of Bali is referred to as Hindu-Balinese Religion, or Agama Hindu Bali (Ramseyer 93), but the true religion of this culture is far more multi-faceted than this title justifies. The people of Bali have essentially created their own individualized religion by combining Mahayana Buddhism, orthodox Siwaism, “demonic practices of Trantric sects”, and Javanized Hinduism from Majapahit, joined by a dualistic world view and worship of nature and ancestors (Ramseyer 93).
Religion is the one element of life that has connected the races and societies of the world for hundreds of years. It has given meaning to lives that may seem otherwise hopeless. Religion has provided for a universal language and culture among those who believe in a higher power. The spirit or being receiving the worship and praise may not be the same, but the practices are usually similar and serve the same purpose--to give direction, insight, courage, and a divine connection.
