Every sport will be represented by a governing body due to different skill levels, in order to create a fair environment. “A sport’s governing body is a sports organization that has a regulatory or sanctioning function. Sports governing bodies come in various forms, and have a variety of regulatory functions. Examples of this can include disciplinary action for rule infractions and deciding on rule changes in the sport that they govern. Governing bodies have different scopes. They may cover a range of sport at an International level, such as the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee, or only a single sport at a national level, such as the Rugby Football League. It is a non-profit organization established in 1906, NCAA helps over 480,000 college student athletes that participate in college sports (national collegiate athletic association, 2018). There are three divisions, I, II, and III that awards 90 national championships yearly. The NCAA mission statement is “the Playing Rules Administration staff will provide technical expertise and leadership for NCAA conferences, coaches, and game officials by developing and interpreting rules for intercollegiate sports to enhance the student-athlete experience and ensure fair competition (ncaa.org, 2018)”. When it comes to the structure, there is legislative bodies that are volunteers from different schools to represent each division and committees to produce policy. The board of governors for the NCAA will have a president and chancellors to review issues to maintain values of fairness, safety, and equal opportunity for all student athletes. Some of the responsibilities and duties consists of the oversight of rules that need to be improved or changed, modified rules, direction on playing rules issues, and counseling to the committees in dealing with complicated rules. The contrast in the mission statements is the NCAA is focused on rules, where FIFA is concentrated on promoting the game worldwide. There are not that many differences in duties besides NCAA is student driving, and FIFA is dealing with a larger population. Objectives of management is the biggest contrast because FIFA is working on a globally stage, and the NCAA is a smaller populist. The last contrast is the constitution, which is not that different, except for the voting process that FIFA has
