Malaysia has planned its growth by various strategic short-term and long-term development masterplans. Multimedia Super Corridor or MSC was established in 1996 which is a high-technology multimedia project administered by paperless government in a new code of Cyberlaws. MSC was set out by the fourth Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad on 12 February 1996. This program is one of the grand strategies and is profound device to embark on the ambitious journey towards realizing Vision 2020. This vision is a long-term planning to be a fully development country and knowledge-based society by the year 2020.
MSC Malaysia has targeted seven multimedia applications to develop the program. This flagship is used to drive the Malaysian economic development. The flagship application is for to entice a cluster of world-class companies to develop leading edge applications, products and services in the MSC area, thereby increase Malaysia’s productivity and competitiveness globally. The main content for the seven Malaysian flagship applications are electronic government, telemedicine, smart school, multi-purpose card, technopreneur development, research and development cluster, and Worldwide Manufacturing Webs. Each of this flagship application has its own role. Figure 1 is the logo of MSC.

It is set to be a fully developed country and knowledge-based society by the year 2020. MSC have three phase of activity which is Phase I (from 1996 to 2003), Phase II (from 2003 to 2010) and Phase III (from 2010 to 2020).
Today, there are over 3,000 MSC Malaysia status companies involved in the global supply chain offering high-value ICT products and services. Examples of the companies that involve are Global Sourcing (Shared Services & Outsourcing), Information Technology (Infotech), and Creative Multimedia (CMC).
Now, in 2013 is too early to judge whether MSC will be success strategy for Vision 2020. However, the success of this MSC story depends on others factor. If one of the seven flagship application fail to perform well, it will affect the other.
