The Legend of MothMan Moth Man is alive he is seen where there is destruction he is living and waiting out in the mountains of West Virginia for the next tragedy to happen(Cryptid). The first sighting was with a young couple while driving near the abandoned TNT plant near Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Spotting the very large winged man moving toward them they speed off. The couple was followed down Highway 62 to Point Pleasant city limits. The Mothman moved extremely fast behind them reaching high speeds during the chase. Some people don’t believe stories just like these one because they hold little solid facts. The stories do hold truth though because we can base it off facts that the couple had no reason to lie and were honestly scared. The MothMan is real and he is somewhere ready to be found. The MothMan has been tied in as a large and scary monster and that he is a long winged monster. (Sighting the MothMan) A winged standing approximately 7 feet tall with a 10-foot wingspan. The photos have never been clear and you couldn’t tell what was inside the picture whether it be the MothMan or a random guy in a mask. The MothMan hasn’t been seen in years and makes people truly believe that he isn’t real. The other question how would the MothMan come to be created and why would these happen also rises a flag. What really happened over the summer in 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico? People have debated this topic countless times. Despite all of the deviations of what happened, there is a general timeline. Sometime during the months of June and July 1947, an aircraft landed in Mac Brazel’s ranch; Brazel proceeded to tell Sheriff George Wilcox. He sent a member of the Roswell Army Air Field base to look at the wreckage on Brazel’s ranch. This person took some of the debris back to the base for further inspection. On July 8, 1947, the newspapers published stories about how someone found a flying saucer in New Mexico. However, the government told the newspapers to report that it was merely a weather balloon that had crashed. After that, everybody simply accepted the story and dropped the topic. Throughout that story, many pieces of evidence went untold to the media. There were numerous pictures that went unreleased. Many affidavits went unnoticed and nobody paid attention to inconsistencies in the government’s justifications. Because of explicative photographs, several eyewitness accounts, and contradictory government explanations, there is extensive proof that the government concealed an alien landing in Roswell, New Mexico.
The novel In The Times of the Butterflies, by Julia Alvarez, consists of a frame narrative told by the only Mirabal sister to survive the reign of Trujillo, Dede Mirabal. This story takes place in the Dominican Republic all the way back in 1938, leading up to the “present” time in 1994. At this time in the Dominican Republic, the country is being ruled by a man named Trujillo, and he is making their homeland an unsafe and horrible place. The Mirabal sisters’ participation in the political movement against Trujillo led to their murder on November 25, 1960. How this affects us is by weakening trees across Ontario and North America. The first time the gypsy moth was found in Ontario was 1969. The gypsy moth can be found in southern Canada (Ontario), New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and British Columbia. It is known to weaken trees and the caterpillar form live in trees and during most outbreaks its caterpillar feces would fall from the trees to the ground or even on top of humans. The average Gypsy Caterpillar can grow 5-6 centimeters long. With five pairs of blue spots and six pairs of bright red dots on their back. The female moth are white and can fly on the other hand, the male moth are brown and can also fly. The female have a 5cm wing span but male have a 2.5cm wing span. The gypsy moth usually lives in open forests and other forests and take up at least 20% of the space. The Gypsy moth are about 4cm long, tan coloured and can be located on tree trunks, furniture, and buildings. (OFAH Invading Species Awareness Program, 2012)
The Mirabal Sisters, otherwise known as Las Mariposas, made their mark in history due to their efforts in the revolution against the Trujillo regime in the Dominican Republic. Julia Alvarez, a native Dominican herself, wrote In the Time of the Butterflies due to an account told by Dede Mirabal about the lives and tragic fate of her sisters Patria, Minerva, and Maria Teresa. Dede’s three sisters were murdered due to their involvement in the revolution; Dede did not join the revolution, and thus survived to help recount their story. Since the novel’s publication in 1994, In the Time of the Butterflies has impacted various aspects of life, and contemporary culture frequently alludes to facets of the novel. Graphic novels are something that requires a lot of deliberate thought and dedication to create a novel that affects the reader in the way authors want them to. Everything within a graphic novel is conscious decision to enable the tones, story, characters, and messages to get through as best as they can. Due to this it is difficult to create an adaption based on someone else’s work, as you want to portray their messages and tones accurately, but also how the creator interoperates the original authors work. This is a problem I had in the creation of my mini graphic adaption of The Flying Troutmans by Miriam Toews. The short story “The Moths,” written by Helena Maria Viramontes, tells a story between a granddaughter and a grandmother who both share a symbolic connection between each other. The story is in a first person narrative, told by the author, and her experience taking care of her ill grandmother while facing gender and religious oppression in her own home. The author is very distant from her own family mainly because she does not meet the expectations that her parents have embedded for her. There is a motif of rebirth throughout the story told by the author by symbolizing the significance of the gray moths. The vivid imagery of moths in Helena Maria Viramontes’ short story “The Moths” symbolizes the connection between life and death.
All around the world, monsters are spotted contently every day. Many of the monsters live in extraordinary circumstances. These monsters range from the chupacabra to the ancient megalodon. One of these monsters is a bigfoot. Bigfoot is a very well known monster that has been in myths and stories for hundreds of years and sightings have started almost 200 years ago.

Ghosts are one of the supernatural beings whose existence is questioned every day. Many want to deny the existence of ghosts because they are terrified of other phantoms who may exist and ignore the evidence that has been brought forth throughout the years. However, ghosts are supernatural pheromones whose existence still impacts today’s society.
Today everybody goes back to the film that was taken by Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin. It is the most famous evidence of the creature. The story is that the two men were riding horseback through the woods to Bluff Creek. When they got there they saw something crouching on the other side of the water. The creature got up two legs and started walking away, so Patterson hurried off his horse, got his camera and ran after it. In the video the creature looks like a woman and it did the Bigfoot look. Although I imagined the creature a human being with somewhat distorted features, another reader might view his appearance as a grotesque monster. On the other hand, the movie has shown him as a hideous monster created by a mad scientist. The monster’s appearance was focused on creating life out of dead body parts, sewing the pieces together that left horrid physical scars, and activating him with electricity.
. At the town of Roswell an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) crash landed in the quiet little town. Many Roswell residents testified that they saw a burning object plummet toward the ground before exploding upon impact. The Air Force's initial reaction to the incident was to tell the world that they did not know what it was. This shows me evidence that they had no “protocol” for this kind of occurrence, thus the Military leader stepped in and covered everything up. This incident caught the attention of citizens of the United States, local officials, and the media. It has especially gained interest in a variety of Special interest groups/ groups that specialize in researching and investigating events that involve UFO’s.
The Nelly Butler hauntings is referred to as the first recorded ghost story in American history (LiBrizzi 5), and possibly the most exciting hauntings to date as there are still many unsolved mysteries. The apparition appeared on more than 30 separate occasions to over 100 witnesses in Sullivan, Maine, just over fifteen years after the American Revolution (5-6). Although the Nelly Butler apparition is one of the most convincing ghosts of all time, it was subject to suspicions of fraud. These claims turn out to be groundless as the evidence reveals the ghost to be genuine.
