The Roman Empire was in existence from “approximately 753 BCE with its founding by Romulus till it’s fall in 476 CE.” (class notes). The Roman military is considered the most powerful and successful in the history of mankind. Rome’s army would become the standard bearer of a successful fighting force for centuries that followed it’s demise. To say that romans excelled at the art of warfare would without doubt be considered true. The Roman military is the first professional army ever assembled. The greatest discipline ever seen in a military force, the dedication of their professionalism, the most modern weapons, commanders that adapted and outwitted their adversaries, and the desire of a person to do its Caesars bidding took this mandate and accomplished it. During contraction, the military became too expensive, too lazy, and a burden of societal desires. The Mongol Empire was amazingly fast in its development and also in its fall. It is easy to pinpoint the date of the start of the Mongol Empire as we have records and detailed information regarding this history. This set up Chinggis to expand and conquer and create the Mongol Empire. “The original foundation of Chinggis military system was an extension of the nomadic lifestyle of the Mongols.” (Wang). The Mongols, were used to travelling and setting up a new home as needed or necessary. This became the way of the military of the Mongols. Pushing forward, sweeping over an area, and never looking back. You did not go back to the center to report and request any new orders. Where you were at any given moment was the center of government. The great Khans, including Chinggis were with their troops, fighting alongside and with the military. This was a huge morale and inspirational uplift of the men and women who were fighting. It is easier to follow the Supreme Leader and his will when he was beside you fighting for
