The Problem of Global Warming "The climate of the Earth is changing" (Melillo 1999:183). These words sum up exactly what is happening to the environment today; it is changing. Yet, what has brought on this change? There are many factors that contribute to climate change, however, the most important one that has become a very relevant issue to humans today is global warming. Global warming is the increase in the Earth's average surface temperature from an increase of greenhouse gases (primarily Carbon Dioxide) in the atmosphere.
Human activities cause the greenhouse gases to accumulate in the atmosphere, and cause an increase in the global warming. The main gas that causes global warming is Carbon Dioxide, which is produced by vehicles and Industrial operations. Also, there are some more gases that cause global warming such as Methane, Nitrous Oxide, and Fluorinated Gases. The increase in the planet temperature can make huge changes in the geological composition and the water surface in the planet. Some of the effects that global warming might causes are floods, melting the ice caps, and hurricanes.
What is Global Warming? Global Warming is the increase of surface temperature due to effect of green housing effect and burning gasses. Increase in global warming: There are many things that cause increase in global warming: Carbon dioxide (CO2): Human beings have increased the Human beings have increased the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere by about thirty percent, concentration in the atmosphere by about thirty percent, CO2 spread in atmosphere from human breath, industries , smoke of automobiles and fossil fuel etc… when we burn fossil fuel the co2 gases escaped in to air and outer layer of earth. Outer layer of is the layer that reflect the ultraviolet rays of sun. So the co2 and burning gases causes the increase of global warming (http://www.nmsea.org/Curriculum/Primer/Global_Warming/fossil_fuels_and_global_warming.htm) Radiations: Radiations also increase the global warming.
Humans impacts on global climate change continues to accumulate. Data indicated that earth’s surface temperature is rising. This increase can be attributed, in part, to human-caused increasing in greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. It is becoming apparent that these climate changes are negatively affecting physical and biological systems worldwide. Carbon dioxide and other pollutants result from burning of coal to produce electricity.
Global warming and its causes is one of the most debated issues today. Global warming refers to the increase of average world temperatures which cause changes in climate. Rising global temperatures have resulted changes in weather and climate. The human activities such as burning of fossil fuel and deforestation, rise global temperature, decline Arctic sea ice and ocean acidification clearly notes that global warming is happening and is caused by human activities. The burning fossil fuels produce greater amount of carbon dioxide more than amount needed in the atmosphere affecting the natural carbon cycle, although the green house gases are naturally occurring cycle phenomena.
Atmosphere can contribute to changes in global climate patterns. Global warming can be considered part of climate change along with changes in precipitation, sea level, etc.” (3) Greenhouse effect is a natural occurrence that helps regulate the temperature of the earth. It was said that “When the Sun heats the earth, some of this heat escapes back to space. The rest of the heat, also known as infrared radiation, is trapped in the atmosphere by clouds and greenhouse gases, such as water vapor and carbon dioxide (CO2)” as reported by the EPA. The statistics and data for the research show that an increased amount of CO2 is actually happening, and other environmental organizations agree with that based on data of their own.
When infrared radiation is emitted and absorbed into the atmosphere, the greenhouse effect occurs. The absorption by the outer layer, in turn, increases the temperature of the lower atmosphere and the Earth’s surface. While some greenhouse gases occur naturally, the increase in industrial production has led to higher levels of carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. The burning of fossil fuels has led to a higher concentration of carbon dioxide. With the rapid change in the economy over the last 30 years, the levels of greenhouse gases have risen significantly.
As a result, the world experiences global warming due to the greenhouse effect resulting from carbon II oxide. Notably, human activities such as industrialization and burning of fuels have also contributed towards global warming. In turn, climate changes have had adverse effects on human health and the environment. However, there are measures that individuals across the world can take to reduce or put an end to climatic changes. In any case, climate change is the change average climate variation as fossil fuels
Thermal pollution is the heating of a body of water which additionally causes stronger hurricanes (Regents Earth Science). On the other hand, CFC’s, greenhouse gases, and automobiles are causing Antarctic ice to melt (Regents Earth Science). This shows that humans affect indeed do affect the global warming process, and vice versa. As can be seen, global warming can affect the planet in many ways. Global warming has many causes and effects.
Global Warming Earth’s temperature is a vital aspect to Earth and its surroundings. The atmospheric temperature along with natural gases is the significant reasons why Earth inhabits all of its life. When there are changes that alter the natural affects of Earth’s environment there are factors that places the environment at risk. Increase warming of global temperatures account as a major concern of Earth’s surroundings. Global warming is a prominent source to consider how and why the environment, coastal zones, water resources, agriculture, food supply, and the health of human life have changed.
