A surplus amount of buildings all throughout the world make jaws drop because of the mind-blowing structures. Buildings do put people in awe and catch a person’s eye in just a second. Many buildings such as the Burj Khalifa, Statue of Liberty, and the Eiffel tower are all beautiful and famous pieces of architecture that just amazes society. Many pieces of architecture are beautiful. But, imagine going to Agra, India where a majestic building stands. A glorious white castle-like structure made with pure marble. This mesmerizing building is the Taj Mahal. Even though it was built in 1632, this building is in marvelous shape. The Taj is also one of the greatest wonders of the world for a couple of reasons. Many people just think about how beautiful this building may be no one thinks why and how it was built or how this one building have affected the world.
The builder of the Taj Mahal was Shah Jahan. Shah Jahan was fifth Mughal emperor of India and was also one of the greatest emperor(Hans 1). He had a wife named Mumtaz Mahal that he dearly loved and kept her close to her heart. As years passed with their marriage, Mahal was going to give birth to their daughter (Hans 1). Sadly, as Mahal was giving birth, she had passed away and so did her baby daughter. Mumtaz died in the year of 1631. Before Mumtaz Mahal had died, she left a dying wish for Shah Jahan. Mumtaz wanted a big funeral so she would be remembered as queen(Burke 1). After the day Mahal died, Shah Jahan decided he wanted to fulfill. So, Jahan planned for many years and then he wanted to build a massive funeral. So, Shah Jahan ordered over 2,000 people and 1000 elephants were used to finish the Taj (Taylor 1). Even with the help of workers and elephants, the Taj Mahal...

...affecting the Taj Mahal. At this rate of air pollution, the Taj Mahal will continue to change color until the air pollution is controlled. Also, the marble of the Taj is getting pock marks in it and the air pollution is weakening it. Historians are trying to repair these marks daily and replacing tiles the old method(Taylor 2). The effects on the Taj Mahal has alarmed the Indian government. India is trying to change laws to make the use of fossil fuels a less of a use.
The Taj Mahal has had many causes and effects on society. The Taj Mahal is built by Shah Jahan for his wife as a tribute to their love when she died. It holds so much beauty that it attracts a huge amount of visitors. Also, the air pollution is changing the Taj Mahal and people are trying to help improve it. The stunning Taj Mahal has contributed to cause and effects in the world in so many ways.
I chose the architecture of the Taj Mahal. The balance given in this art-piece is symmetrical balance. The balance gives the painting a nice and neat feeling, as if it had the attention and time of 100 artisans working on its beauty.
The buildings that I chose to do were an advert for a powerful civilization. The emperors showed their power that they are the great leaders with a lot of money that could get many workers as they possibly could to erect their pattern of monument. The emperor Augustus used propaganda to ensure a vast base of support leading up to his renunciation in 27BC. The Roman emperors also built all these monuments in regard to public entertainment for their political advertising.
One distinct structure that played a role in the Hindu and Muslim conflict was the famously known Taj Mahal. In respect to the Islamic tradition, there were verses from the Quran that were inscribed on the arched entrances, and other arched entrances of the mausoleum. Also, there was a moon with its points that pointed to the heavens in a U-shape, thus resembling a trident that represents the traditional symbol of the Hindu god Shiva. The Hindus’ architectural styles had great influence on the building and designing of the Taj Mahal, and as a result the ruler of the Munghal Empire in the year 1658, Aurangzeb, neglected this beautiful building. Aurangzeb had many militant policies whereby he destroyed the temples and shrines of the Hindus, and prohibited the construction and repair of old or new Hindu temples. He also ensured that in the year 1668 that the Hindu religious fairs became outlawed, and did everything in his power to discriminate against the Hindus in order to make their lives difficult. On December 7, 1992 the Hindus destroyed the Mosque of Babar because according to them the mosque was built on a sacred piece of land whereby the Hindu God Ram was born. However, the Muslims did not want to regain control of the mosque after its destruction because they feared that it would lead
The Great Wall of China has been called a wonder by many who have seen it. It brings pride to the Chinese nation, and is known for being the only man made structure visible from space. The magnitude of The Great Wall is an architectural achievement as well as an example of the will power of man. Many find it hard to believe that such an amazing sight could have a history so filled with death, slavery and sadness as The Great Wall does. The Great Wall of China is one of the world's most famous architectural triumphs and has helped China throughout its history, even though its creation is marked by tragedy.
I have seen and been to a few monuments in my life. The one that’s sticks out in my mind the most is my visit to the World Trade Center after the first bombing. I remember the first couple of floors were being worked on, and you couldn’t really walk pass the building. Still, it was a magnificent site to see. I must have looked like a tourist because my eyes were constantly focus on all the huge skyscrapers that surrounded me.
Designed by the English architect John Nash between 1815 and 1821 as a seaside resort for the Prince Regent, it combines a fanciful assortment of Chinese, Indian, and Islamic motifs (267). John Nash was an English architect who had designed the Royal Pavilion. When I saw this picture, I reminded of Hindu temples because of Royal Pavilion domes like a Hindu temple dome and the others domes look like a mosque dome. The Royal Pavilion is a countless architecture that is why people are keen to see. On my response, The Royal Pavilion is embodie a piece of art which are still standing in the same way and his art is evident. I agree with the author regarding a fanciful assortment of Chinese, India, and Islamic
"Temples, tombs and pyramids - all have witnessed this earth for thousands of years. What better than to say that these architectural achievements show us that Egypt's greatest virtue lay in its architecture" (Fumeaux:11, 1964)
The Temple was very large and beautiful. My friend and I were both stunned by how gorgeously built the Mandir was. The buildings were big and stretched across several acres of the land. Next to the temple was another large building, which was used as a center for gatherings and entertainment purposes. The temple had many different entrances, the main one we noticed were the big steps ...
Not only does pollution destroy plants but it also affects the health of animals and humans. The affects of pollution on living organisms maybe short and long term. As a child growing I had a friend who was form India, and he would visit every few
The Taj Mahal, which translates to “Crown Palace” is a very significant monument and regarded as one of the best in the world. It is actually a mausoleum where both the bodies of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal are found. It was built from 1631 till 1648 AD in Agra, India (History of Taj Mahal). Architects from all around the world were ordered to come to India and build this Taj Mahal by the order of the Mughal, Shah Jahan (History of Taj Mahal). He built this to honor his wife after her death while she was giving birth to their child (History of Taj Mahal). Her last words for Shah Jahan was to build a tomb in her memory that the world has never seen before, and so he did what she asked for (History of Taj Mahal). Later on, the grave of Shah Jahan was added to the Taj Mahal.
One unique place, the Twin Towers, is very neat. It towers above all the other buildings.
One of the world’s greatest love stories produced a timeless monument. The structure’s sheer beauty inspired poetic words from the builder himself. The monument is an engineering marvel that has been studied by scholars and historians alike. Visitors throughout history have been infatuated by the shrine’s elegance. Count Hermann Keyserling describes the monument as, "A massive marble structure, without weight, as if formed of ether, perfectly rational and at the same time entirely decorative (Taj Mahal, 2008).Keyserling went on to say, “It is perhaps the greatest art work which the forming spirit of mankind has ever brought forth (Taj Mahal, 2008)." An American novelist, Bayard Taylor referred to this structure as a castle in the air (Taj Mahal, 2008). Constructed as a tomb for the emperor’s deceased wife, the Taj Mahal stands as one of the greatest manmade creations in the history of the world.
I think a gigantic funerary mosque of white marble, built in Agra by order of the Mogul emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, the Taj Mahal is the most perfect jewel of Moslem art in India and is one of the universally admired architectures of the world’s heritage. Not only see the beautiful Taj Mahal from the video, I also knew the history of itself and its country. A white marble tomb sums up many of the formal themes that have played through Islamic architecture. The video did talk a lot of how much Shah Jahan himself and his father loved art and made many gorgeous artworks. Taj Mahal’s refined style is a conspicuous contrast to the Hindu architecture of pre-Islamic India, with its thick walls, arches, and heavy supports. Even though Taj Mahal is the symbol of grief and sadness, it still has it beauty looks from marble and sand stone.
The Mughals took what was ‘Indian’, developed by the Delhi Sultanate and surrounding Hindu kingdoms that were consolidated into the Mughal Empire throughout its reign, and made it their own, creating whole new areas of study and development in the kingdom. One of the most majestic and famous results of this is the Taj Mahal, recognised by people all throughout the world as a true product of the Mughal Dynasty and proof of the Mughals wealth and ingenuity, combining traditional Indian and Persian architecture and as a result creating something so beautiful it is considered one of the world’s greatest wonders.
Another purpose of the building is that it is the world’s tallest building and demonstrates a living wonder. The location of the building is a pride to the people of the Middle East because it is the tallest free-standing structure in the middles east. The stunning work of art is visible to the world and incomparable work of engineering that build the Burj Khalifa.
