Each person has different values in life, which they live by. When I think of the values were held in the past, I imagine the “Love Comes Softly” series by Janette Oke that was also made into a movie. The series is based on values of Christ, family, love, respect, and honesty. I would say these would be the values I live with on a daily basis. Each value plays a different role in life you can have one without the other, however when put together I feel it is a powerful combination. Christ or in the movie, he was called "Clarkes God” was always front and center. Clarke knew how to hand over to God, his problems and pray for support he also knew how to thank God for helping him with the concerns. Clark also knew how to just thank him …show more content…
Love may not be noticed until it is full force or until it is ready for you to appreciate it. Marty and Clarke were not ready to fall in love again when they met, nevertheless love found them when they weren’t looking. All to often Love is given to freely. It should be something earned, cherished and protected. Love needs to grow over time, sometimes love may feel like it is dying, all it just needs a little help to progressing again. Clarke shows his love for family and friends in every action, and every word, he shows it by lending a helpful hand to those in need and also in the discipline he shows his children and grandchildren in the series, Clarke is a man of respect all through the series not for the fact he demands it, he is shown it due to the way he is, such is the same for Marty and the children with in the whole series. Within the Love Comes Softly series the family lives by their word and by the word of God. They are shown respect since they deserve no less. A countless number of people believe to get respect you need to show it and yes, I agree, although even if you do not show respect you should always present it. A situation may turn out different if you just showed a person respect. I was raised to show respect, no matter what and I strive to live with
Which one is most important; our personal values or someone else's values? I think that my personal values are very important for me, and I should not be influenced by other unless I have the same feelings or beliefs. There is a huge difference between both stories; however, they have some common conflicts.
The values that impact my decisions include: accountability, truth, honor, spirituality, reliability, kindness, ambition, family and compassion just to name a few. My grandfather was a successful business man in the 1930’s through 1980’s. He was a firm believer that you are only as good as your word. He did business with a hand shake and a smile. Teaching his grandchildren that if a man’s word is of no value, neither is he. Furthermore, he taught us the importance of sticking with your fundamental beliefs and principals. The value that is non-negotiable in my life is integrity. I believe it is important to be ethical, honest, truthful, reliably and trustworthy in every aspect of life. I am inspired and driven professionally by compassion, kindness and a belief in healing those that are
The notion behind loving someone is simply a very complicated and esoteric in nature. People often describe a certain chemistry, as in a certain attraction, needed between two individuals who are in love but Barbara Fredrickson is able to coordinate the definition of love on the basis of chemicals. Barbara Fredrickson is able to provide the definition of love on the deductive reasoning based on chemistry, biology, and neurology explained in Love 2.0: How our Supreme Emotion Affects Everything we Feel, Think, Do, and Become. As Barbara explains "With each micro-moment of love, then, you climb another rung on the spiraling ladder that lifts you up to your higher ground, to richer and more compassionate social relationships, to greater resilience
"A value determines what a person thinks he ought to do, which may or may not be the same as he wants to do, or what is in his interest to, or what in fact he actually does. Values in this sense give rise to general standards and ideal by which we judge our own and others conduct; they also give rise to specific obligations” (CCETSW,
Values -Everyone has them. Where do those values come from? In literature, one can find the answer to that question by taking a close look at characters and their values. They can be compatible to real life experiences. Look at the two stories, "Abuela Invents the Zero" by Judith Ortiz Cofer, and Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. The main characters in the stories are Constancia from "Abuela Invents the Zero" and the Four March sisters, Meg, Jo, Amy, and Beth from Little Women. These two stories demonstrate how Experiences can shape, and change values.

Understanding who we are as individuals can be a struggle for people throughout life. It can be difficult to comprehend who we are and why we exist. There are daily outside influences that help create who we are and what our values are. Values play a significant role in our lives. They shape the choices we make and reveal a big part of our identity to the world. Some values may be more important than others, but they still manage to influence our lives in one way or another, whether we know it or not. Values can range from a tangible item to an idea that has influenced us to stand by and remember those values. The values we hold with the highest importance act as a guide and help us prioritize our purpose and goals in our daily life. My family has taught me a list of values and traits that have helped me become a well-rounded individual. I value my family more than anything because most of my core inner values have started from their teachings at one point or another. My top values that I have developed from my family are dedication, honesty, and wisdom. I will discuss who I am in terms of the important values that shape my personal belief system and decision making framework that, in essence, describes the direction of my life.
Every family has different values and how every family is different. From the time I was little till now I never really understood the meaning of the word family values. I think of it as two things family and then values; family is basically the people I live with. The people that support them and love them, even their parents and siblings and other adults that live there. Values are what we have but family value put together is values that are traditionally learned or relearned within a family, for example those of high moral standards and discipline.
Values are personal; a set of values is what's important to that individual. Values are so important that a person just doesn't feel right when what they are doing is in conflict with a value. Values conflicts can generate high levels of personal stress. There is no right or wrong set of personal values, though there are cultural norms embracing certain values as correct. Your personal code of values are what's important to you; not something you want or would like to have, but something you literally need in your life to be true to yourself. A value is a principle or quality intrinsically valuable or desirable to you. Values are personal. They are your convictions, your beliefs, and your ethics rolled into one.
