The Louisiana territory from the the Louisiana Purchase was explored by two famous explorers. Those two explorers were Meriwether Lewis and William Clark or better known as Lewis and Clark. In 1803 Thomas Jefferson Sent Lewis and Clark on an expedition to find a water route and unexplored parts of the west. The expedition started from the Missouri river on May 14, 1804 and ended at St. Louis on March 26, 1806. On May 20, 1806 Lewis and Clark and many other men had finished preparing for the expedition and were ready to begin exploring. Members on the expedition had there eyes peeled during their ride up the Missouri river looking for Indians, meanwhile Lewis explored nature and Clark made maps.
