In this paper, I will be discussing about my interested in teaching. What I hope to accomplish in my years of being a teacher. I will also begin discussing how I would serve has a positive role model in the classroom and outside of the classroom. Some of the things I can contribution has a teacher is my time. Three expectations that parents believe of me has a teacher include is that I can teach their kids what they need to learn.
I want to be that kind of teacher where a child looks forward to coming to my classroom. I want students to think I am fun and not boring. During my sophomore year, I found out about the Teacher Academy program that was offered at my high school. I signed up and I got accepted into the Teacher Academy program at the beginning of my junior year. In order to get into this program I had to write a personal narrative of why I wanted to be a teacher and I had to get a teachers recommendation.
By doing these little things it will help encourage students to continue the good work and to carry on in this manner. Behaviorism also deals with the big role that the environment plays in a student’s academic learning. Throughout my junior high and high school years, I had the meanes... ... middle of paper ... ...ly teaching students from different backgrounds, races, and interests. Nonetheless I have great confidence in myself, and the teachers here at Concord College, which will help me to achieve all of my goals and wishes to become an excellent teacher. Entering my adulthood, after graduation, I would like to pursue a teaching position in a public school teaching any grade from kindergarten up to third grade.
Teaching Philosophy Statement “A teacher is a person who teaches especially for a living” according to Webster’s dictionary. I plan to teach for a living but really want to teach so that I can also be taught. I want to be taught by the students I will have in my classroom year after year. A teacher is an advisor, coach, guide, lecturer, trainer, counselor, and someone who can change a life with the right amount of love and understanding. When I was a senior in high school I planned on becoming a youth minister.
These influences come from my family and teachers that I have had. My aunt taught elementary school and is now the superintendent of education in our county; my younger sister let me teach her as we were growing up and a combination of these inspired me to pursue a career in education. I had many teachers that made me want to learn, these are people that I have a great deal of respect for. These are people that made me want to teach. I feel that the nature of students is very diverse.
Teacher identity is also important for teaching, because I believe teacher are role model for the student in many other ways. Research show again and again that children are using the similar action as their teacher while their play. ( (Gloria Latham, Mindy Blasise, Shelly Dole, Julie Faulkner and Haren Malone, 2011)The reason that I choose to be teacher is influence by one of my particular teacher from primary teacher her name is Daw. Khin Thit Thit Lwin. In my primary school, we have to stay with one teacher from kindergarten to year four.
Mrs. Sager, my third grade teacher, had a zest for life and made learning an adventure. I wanted and still want to be like her, but was a mentor from when you were eight a good reason to be a teacher? As any child knows when you’re having trouble, call mom! I called my mom and ask her, if I weren’t your child, would you want me to teach your child? As always mom surprised me.
I always feel like it depends on the student’s exceptionality as to how I vary my lesson and how I help the student be successful in the lesson. I also never know what the answer is they want me to give. My teacher suggested that I mention that I would make sure to follow the IEP and then work collaboratively with parents and intervention specialists. I am also not sure if my classroom management method was a good answer either. I said that I like to set up a routine within the first few weeks of school, so that the students know what to expect.
Statement of Philosophy and Goals As a child playing school with the neighborhood children, I had always dreamed of becoming a teacher. Since the first day of kindergarten, watching the teacher teach us how to do basic things like counting, writing, and reading is what interested me in teaching. Throughout my elementary and secondary education I became even more interested in the teaching field. I thought that being a teacher would be the best thing in the world because a teacher has an immense amount of knowledge. Now I am in college where I am currently studying to be a secondary mathematics teacher.
Teachers plan the programming around children’s interests, record the outcomes, analyze the results, and then plan more programming around these new interests. I may currently be an RECE, but teaching in an elementary school is always something I have wanted to do from a very young age. I was extremely lucky to have many teachers whose love of being an educator was so palpable that it inspired me to do the same for a future generation. It is why I am currently at the University of Windsor getting my degree in psychology. After receiving my degree, I plan on applying to teacher’s college.
