Once upon a time in the Pacific Ocean where there is lots of deep water and lots of fish there was a Loggerhead Sea Turtle named Charlie. Charlie wasn't just any Loggerhead Sea Turtle he was one of the last Loggerhead Sea Turtle. Charlie had a friend his name was Flippy and he was a Blue Marlin. Charlie was just swimming around living his normal life one day when Flippy came up to him and said
“Charlie why are you the last Sea Turtle why isn't there more in this ocean.”
“Well let me tell you why there are no Sea Turtles like me anymore.”Charlie said
“It was a very long time ago where there was lots of turtles just like me.I was very little about 5. Everyone in the ocean was so happy. Until….”
“Until what.” Flippy said with sadness.
“Until everyone was disappearing. And I had to find out how we were disappearing. ” Charlie said with sadness
“Oh no” Flippy screamed.
“Ok calm down. Let me tell you what happened next.”Charlie said
“Well I went straight to my family and I said “ I haft to find out what is happening to all the sea turtles.” My family said “no’’ but that night I got up off of my rock bed and snuck out. I swam for miles and miles until I met this fish her name was Sandy. Sandy told me one thing why all the Loggerhead Sea Turtles were disappearing. She said that the humans were putting up fishing nets and some turtles get caught in those fishing nets. I said to my friend Sandy “thank you I have to go now maybe i will see you again sometime” and swam away.
“Why did you swim away” Flippy said
“Well because I had to find out more” Charlie said
“Ok well lets see… Oh yah I swam even farther when I came upon this town named Aquasim. I went into the town and there was a market. Not a big market but a market that was a me...
... middle of paper ...
...here I am” and I went off to go see my family.
“That Octopus sounds pretty nice” said Flippy
“He was,now let me finish the rest of my story.I swam back to my house and when I got there my family was there they said that they were so worried about me. And I told them about my adventure.”
“I dont get it why are you the last Loggerhead Sea Turtle” Flippy said
“Let me finish all the turtles like me soon all disappeared and my family with them from all those reasons that humans were doing to our homes.”
“Oh thats horrible” Flippy said
“I know, what humans don't know is they don't know what they have until its gone. I know in my heart that someday humans will think about this and help the animals. ”

“The World on the Turtle’s Back” is an interesting story. “The World on the Turtle’s Back” tells a story of the Earth being made on a turtle’s back. A woman was pregnant and looked down an opening in the sky world and fell through. Birds flew and saved her and put her on a turtle’s back. Then a muskrat went to the bottom of the water and got a clump of dirt.
As seen here, this turtle is much more than an animal. It’s a symbol that represents to many things. It’s a symbol of the Joad family’s journey, Tom Joads mistake, and the promise of new life. Even outside of the Grapes of Wrath, the turtle’s symbolism does not end. Even though the Joads may be a fictional family, there were still actual people who took that journey, and many of them made it. They lived the life portrayed by The Grapes of Wrath, and represented by the turtle, and all faced challenges of their own. Not everyone made it, but they changed history as we know it, and that is something worth living
"This is an island. At least I think it's and island. That's a reef out in the sea. Perhaps there are not any grownups anywhere."
The Red Eared Slider Turtle will let you touch it and handle it at times, eat food out of your hand, and swim up to you. Their curious natures come to the forefront during these times and they will observe everyone with bursting curiosity hoping for
Animals and objects often function as a stand in for human kind, especially in literature. Authors’ repeatedly use them to draw reference and explain different characteristics, emotion, and situations of inhumanity. In The Grapes of Wrath, Steinbeck used the turtle to illiterate the journey of a lot of people during the 1930’s to 1940’s. During the period the dust bowl, a series of relentless wind storms and drought, was caused by improper methods of farming that would help prevent erosion. Families were compelled to leave their farms to find work because of the drought and dust storms had left many homeless. Many people experienced the pain of their mortgages foreclosed by banks. Families would pack up the automobiles and head across the country. As the automobile transformed into a more accessible form of transportation it became a saving grace for many of the agricultural farm workers in search a new beginning. The turtle and the automobile both literally and figuratively crossed paths and had a small but somewhat significant impact on each other.

What does one think of when the word “turtle” is mentioned? This adorable creature is usually thought of as slow, futile, and the unsung hero of “The Tortoise and Hare.” However, Kay Ryan argues in her poem “Turtle” that turtles are more than just these things: they are strong but unfortunate creatures that must put up with many obstacles in order to survive. Despite the struggles that she faces, the turtle exhibits a multitude of different strengths to overcome them, as seen as the poem progresses.
The turtle, he is an elusive creature. Hidden well in the water. He is also hidden well in his shell. The shell alone provokes our childlike curiosity to see what’s inside, to explore. The more we learn about them the more questions we have. How do they live, how do the reproduce, how do they as cold blooded reptiles survive the winter, and many other mysteries. Science has begun to solve some of these problems, but new problems appear every day. Turtles are very interesting animals. One of the most fascinating species of turtles is the Painted turtle.
On the planet, there are hundreds of thousands of different species of animals. Turtles, being in the reptilian family of the animal kingdom, are thought to have only two types of species. These types are land and water turtles. However, this is not true. For example, having observed “Turtles unlimited” (iNaturalist, 2015), which is a research project that specializes in reptilian behavior and habitat of turtles, people will come to realize the importance of the different types of turtle species currently observable (U.S. Fish Wildlife Service, 2011). In Florida, there are over twenty types of species that exist today. For example, people, like this researcher, can observe the red-bellied Cooter turtles. Florida is known for its amazing wildlife, but it is also known for its growing human population. With all the trash in Venetians Gardens, it is an environmental
“Well, here’s to the lion,” Wilson said. He smiled at me again. I didn’t smile back, I just turned my head to study
“Ahh no, but… I can read. Remember I told you I found this place? Well, the article mentioned that this place had a shrimp boat tied to a dock on the lake. I thought you might like to see what a shrimp boat looked like in real life. Besides, the site said that this very boat had once been tied up, I think that is what you call it, at a dock across the river from Folly Beach. I thought you would be interested, you know with what you read about Jack and all.” Carl explained.

“I had been born into a raging ocean where I swam relentlessly, flailing my arms in hope of rescue, of reaching a shoreline I never sighted. Never solid ground beneath me, never a resting place. I had lived with only the desperate hope to stay afloat; that and nothing more. But when at last I wrote my first words in the page, I felt an island rising beneath my feet like the back of a whale”.
Frustrated with the way the day was going, we decided to go inside, get some refreshments, and brainstorm to try to find something that would hold our attention for longer than half an hour. During the middle of our brainstorming session, a family friend of the Locke’s came over. He and his kids had just caught some soft-shelled turtles out at his family’s rock quarry. Intrigued, we decided to make a trip out there in attempt to find some turtles of our own. So five of us piled into the 1980’s rusty jeep with no doors and no roof and drove a few miles to the rock quarry.
