The reason I chose this particular topic about studying the LGB society, because I am one of the individuals in today’s society that is experiencing this issue. My main goal and concern of my paper is to research opinions and feedback from today’s society to see how others feel towards those who are a part of the LGB community. It is crucial for us to become more knowledgeable about LGB mental illness accusations, in order to gain clarity and reduce misinformation. Using clinical psychology, we can create a greater understanding for lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals. Some of the challenge and studies show that individuals continue to face widespread discrimination in the workplace. Studies show that anywhere from 15 percent to 43 percent of gay people have experienced some type of discrimination and harassment at their workplaces. These workplace abuses pose a real and immediate threat to the economic security of gay workers. Straight coworkers attest to the presence of discrimination and harassment against LGB workers as well.
