Diseases such as diabetes, cancer, asthma, autism, epilepsy, obesity, and many others continue to affect millions of people all around the world. The Ketogenic diet, which is a low-carb/ high-fat diet has claimed to help and cure people that suffer from these diseases and allow them to live a “normal” life. However, we’ve been told throughout the years eating fats will make you fat or that they aren’t good for your diet. In recent research, The Department of Neurology and Pediatrics at the John Hopkins Medical Institution did a study on 150 children who suffered with epilepsy by placing them on a low-carb/high-fat diet. Farmers, continuously feed cows grain because it allows the cattle to get bigger at a faster rate, which allows them to be produced quickly. Livestock production doesn’t take the time to feed cows grass; feeding them grass makes them healthy and allows us to consume meat that isn't toxic. It has allowed people who have been diagnosed with cancer to not have to go to chemotherapy or through radiation anymore. It has helped people like Abigail and Aaron who suffer with Autism to function and be able to do everyday tasks. Lastly, it has helped hundreds of children who had severe amounts of seizures on a daily basis to become seizure free. The effects of a low-carb/high-fat diet have outstanding results. We are able to help treat those who suffer with diabetes, obesity, cancer, epilepsy, and autism with a high-fat diet instead of putting them on high dose medications and
