The Joy of Paper Crafting

It was a hot summer day and the east wind was wiping down the Columbia Gorge, blowing pieces of forgotten trash down the I-84 freeway. Traffic was heavier than usual for a Saturday morning; probably because the Columbia River was attracting people to stay cool by swimming or boating. The forecast called for a temperature of 95 degrees; there was also a smog advisory in effect. A family bike ride was on the calendar but now with the whether being too hot, I decided to go to a stamp camp instead.

As I drove to my friends house for stamp camp, I anticipated the new card making techniques I would learn. She had also mentioned we would be using new colors of card stock, designer paper, and craft ink. Just a few blocks before arriving at her house, I turned the air conditioning off and rolled all the windows down. The warm breeze filled the cabin of the car and tossed my hair around. As I turned the corner the sun hit my arm and the side of my face and warmed my skin that had been cooled by the crisp air from the car vents. For the remaining few blocks to her house I drove with the windows down and enjoyed the warmth and the wind.

My mind drifted away from my relaxing destination of card making and I found myself thinking about nothing at all—it was very relaxing. When I pulled into the driveway, I realized I was the first one to arrive. I greeted my friend and chose a seat at the table. She informed me we would only be making five cards today instead of our normal seven because her two grandchildren were there visiting. One is five, the other is three; Cheri thought it would be a bit distracting having the little ones there. It turned out to be no big deal, but I saved five dollars anyway—so that was a bonus.

Even though the great coupons may not have been utilized, as a happy paper crafter, you leave the store overjoyed anyway because not only did you find something on sale, but you found some new paper, ink, embellishment or tools to use in your paper crafting. This will only bring you more relaxation and lower the stress level in your life. Remember, find something that brings you peace and relaxation. Everyone needs to relax and distress in the crazy and busy world we all live in.
