The Issue of Christians' Imposing Their Views Onto Others
It is definitely the case that what Christians believe is up to them,
as it is that what anyone believes is up to them. If Christians
believe that euthanasia is correct, anyone can say that they are
correct or incorrect, but imposing their views on others can be agued
both ways.
There are extreme cases, where a religion or group of people have
tried to impose laws, ways of life even that go against that of the
people. If you take significant times in history, possibly any time in
history, you can argue that if it hadn't happened then the world today
might not be as it is, it could even be better or worse for it. This
is one of the strongest points that suggesting that the argument might
be argued both ways.
If the Vikings or the Romans for that matter hadn't invaded England
and imposed their Views, Religions, Laws and Ways of Life, would the
world be as it is today. After all, changing the invaded country into
another Roman or Viking Empire was the aim, and it was done no matter
what, even by force. But the question remains, is it or was it right
for people to impose their views on others. Well, some see it as
though they would not be here today if it had not happened, and so in
that respect it may be right. But could the world have been a better
place if it hadn't happened.
Nazi Germany, when Hitler called the shots, with the persecution of
the Jews. Hitler believed that all Jews were evil, and the Jewish
religion should be whipped out. So, he persisted to attempt to do so.
If you were to call that his religion, is that really wrong, what he
did. He was imposing his views onto others, with devastating
consequences. I think that it is unquestionable that what he did was
wrong, and so should I therefore be against a religion imposing their
views on other, as in essence that was what he was doing.
While driving behind a vehicle plastered in bumper stickers, the first one to catch someone’s attention may say “Real Christians don’t judge.” Most will not give it a second thought, while others may analyze its message and the individual giving the message. In general this sticker may be found on a variety of vehicles. The vehicle itself is not as important as the individual driving it. While discussing this bumper sticker it will be important to understand where it is found, the fallacies it involves and the problems with the argument.

When a society has one of these things, or even all three, it will not be a safe or fun place to live. Citizens will start riots and some will maybe even flee. And honestly, these things are bound to happen. Ultimately, we are doomed… it’s just up to us how long that will take.
"God help, I'm so lost!" If you listen carefully, this is a common thought that is heard throughout many schools in the nation. Is this thought appropriate? The following statement clearly shows that the law allows students and adults to practice religion, but at the same time be respective of others and their beliefs even if they do believe or if they don't. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, or to petition the government for a redress of grievances." (First Amendment, The Constitution of the United States). Prayer is not normally permitted as a scheduled part of classroom activities, because it would result in the violation of the principle of church-state separation, which has been defined by court interpretations of the 1st Amendment to the U.S, Constitution. The separation principle is extended to Public school as an arm of the government, with an exception which can be permitted if, during the school year, a mixture of prayers, statements, etc are delivered, using material derived from a number of different religions and secular sources. So far, this has never been tried in a school or ruled upon by a court (Religion in Public).
What is freedom of religion? Today people speak freely about their own views over specific topics regarding what they believe and what they think is the truth. Along with everything in life there are limits and laws that the government of the United States has established. Let’s take a look at the definition of freedom, what the government says about our freedom, how it is acted out and portrayed in America, and a few case studies regarding freedom of religion.
In an organized religion debate, Alan Dershowitz and Alan Keyes contended many issues on religion and morality. Alan Dershowitz, a Harvard law professor, believed that "morality can be maintained without religion." He also stated that it must be maintained without religion because times have changed. He said that if religion is not separated from state it could have severe damage, such as the Crusades and the Holocaust. Dershowitz believes that there is a difference between morality and religion. When people are moral without religion, they are being virtuous on their own, not because they are afraid of God. He stated that religion should not consist of a Cost-Benefit Analysis. Alan Keyes, a former Republican presidential candidate, stated that religion sets the standard for what's moral. Keyes argued "power only ultimately respects another power," and Martin Luther King Jr. was not a preacher by accident. Dershowitz also stated that not everything in the Bible should be believed word-for-word, even George Washington said "indulge religion with caution." Keyes believed that if state and religion should be separated, then why does the Declaration of Independence contain so much about religion? Alan Dershowitz and Alan Keyes would have argued endlessly about religion's role in society if there were not a moderator to stop them.
...h lower bodily pleasure. Since the world is desolate and they must strive for survival, people will have to simply live with their basic needs instead of reaching for better and higher pleasures. In addition, people might live less moral lives in the real world. With the fight for survival, people might result to immoral acts such as stealing and killing. The consequences of these actions would reduce happiness and only cause more people pain.
...or obstacles to our survival as a species.” Climbing our way out of this situation will not be easy, it will require an enormous amount of work. It will require a society to act for the welfare of the future, not just immediate needs.
The individual right to freedom of religion means that you can freely practice your religion without the government interfering. It’s in the first amendment of the Bill of Rights, in the Constitution, it protects all U.S. citizens to a certain extent. The first amendment went into effect on December 15th, 1791. 1The first amendment states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” (American Civil Liberties Union). There are two clauses in the U.S. Constitution that guarantee freedom of religion. The Establishment Clause which prohibits the government from passing legislation to establish an official religion. There is also the Free Exercise Clause, it prohibits the government from interfering with someone’s practice of religion (LII). The first amendment also sets a fine line between states’ rights and the churches rights (Black,130). Throughout time, many things have happened to where the first amendment has had to been set into play.
All over the world, many people practice a religion of their choice. With any religion people participate in many rituals that show their commitment to their religion. Amongst the five major religions of the world, which are Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism, they are all significant to what people believe in. Each of them include rituals, places of worship, a God or Gods, and so much more. The five major religions of the world each have key characteristics that highlight both their similarities and differences.
“God wanted the Christians to win. My Cid and his men made the Moors run.” (Pg.167) According to the Christians, divine fate was the reason for their success in the destruction of the Muslim’s land. The sheer force of God was the reason defeat over the Muslims came so easily. The Christians believed that God backed them because no other religion was a ‘true’ religion. The cruelty towards those of other religions by Christians came from the idea that they had God on their side and were working in God’s name. The treatment of the Muslims was satisfactory for the Christians because they believed they were carrying out God’s work. They deserved all the riches that they were rewarded because they followed the one true God. Intolerance is the inability
