Assemble, Ready, Go It is hard to imagine living in the 21st century without Henry Ford’s ingenuity and determination to innovate and bring to perfection a mechanism to mass-produce and reduce costs. His vision not only changed the automobile industry, but also paved the way we handle the constant change in products that occurs almost over night. Imagine a market without the ability to mass-produce, minimize costs and still offer a decent product. We would still be living in a society were just a few of us would be able to afford high end engineered gadgets like the automobile that we take for granted in our day to day lives. Competitors were producing newer and more attractive models with a wide range of selection, leaving Henry Ford no other option but to retire the old Model T.
It is significant to say Henry Ford had ability as an engineer to take projects apart and come with a solution. The implementation of the moving assembly line alone was not enough to compete against a constant changing environment. It was Henry Ford vision of minimizing cost and careful planning that allowed him to compete against his own self-mechanism of only use common proven designs and listen to other ideas when necessary.
Because of market demands in 1927, Henry Ford had to lay off many of his employees to work on a newer automobile model that could bring his company back to the market.
