Recommended: The impact of music in our society

Art is not just a picture on a wall or in a museum, art comes in many forms. It can be a song you just heard, a video you watched, or a painting you saw in a gallery. Also, art can be just text. All forms of art grasp you in different ways and make your thoughts evolve to new distances. Art can bring you feelings you did not think you had. You can perceive the art in many ways and the creator wants it to influence you. I believe that yes, at can truly influence society and inform human behavior. While it may seem to some that pictures, songs, and videos influence you the most, it is actually true that books are the most influential and informative because they get in touch with your mind and emotions. There are many people in this world and their are many forms of art. It is inevitable for everyone to have the same opinion on which form influences them the most, but nevertheless let me present you with some information. When you look at the Mona Lisa, by Leonardo Divinci, what do you see? Most people just see a pretty picture and a famous work of art. They never really have a deeper thought of this portrait. It is just something to look at, not something that influences you. When you watch a video, you get facts and information. You might remember it for awhile , but is that something that is going to drive you to make a change? I do not believe so. Music on the other hand is quite influential to our time. The song " The Show Goes On" by Lupe Fiasco states, " All right, already the show goes on, all night, till the morning we dream so long." This song is about how bad things will happen but the dream will live on and push onward because "The Show Goes On." Another song "Changed" by Rascal Flatts states, " I hit my kne... ... middle of paper ... ...t for all of us to read text so we can make our own opinions and decisions on how it influenced us directly. Sometimes you adopt other people's views and it takes you reading someone else's point of view for you to feel it yourself and make your own thoughts of the matter. Also text informs you of information you really need to know. Whether it teaches you something or evolves your thoughts, books tell us very important things. If we all did not read, we would never know some of the things on this earth that needed changing. Our world would be a very different place if people did not read others views, thoughts, and ideas. Sadly, our world would be worse off without the sharing of the knowledge from others past mistakes. Art just is not something we look at or listen to, that art of books and texts is something that influences and informs us and makes the us better.
