Introduction While the degree of organizational culture varies throughout every agency, according to Kubilay Ocal, there is a clear link between organizational culture and an organizations performance. Neubert and Dyck define organizational culture as “the set of shared assumptions, values, and experiences that influence the ways in which individuals, teams, and groups interact with one another and work toward company goals” (2014). Consequently, these shared assumptions and values are highly influential on an organizations performance. (Standards) This creates a large discrepancy since large amount of work we do for the participants is not work that we are being measured on. (Warmth and support) Management does not ask how many evictions we have helped avoid or how many participants are housed due to our assistance. We use calendars for every event, meeting, or appointment with participants. In a few cases, if participants show up without making an appointment first, they may be turned away as their housing specialist may have someone else on their calendars. There are also bi-monthly meetings with managers, weekly meetings with sub-departments, and quarterly meetings as departments. On the other hand, the organization also has a clear external focus. The entire purpose of the organization is to help low income participants in the local community.
