In today’s American culture, coffee is one of the number one go to drinks for many occasions. Most drink it for the morning hours to gather their energy for a long day out in the corporate or academic world, while others may drink it for social occasions, or even to calm their nerves instead of spike them. It is so engrained in our culture that pictures of mothers, students, teachers, and workers taking a long satisfying sip of the drink are not hard to conjure up in our minds, whether we’re young or we’re old. According to the International Coffee Organization, over 9.02 million bags of coffee grounds were purchased all over America in 2017. Whether it’s done in a kettle or some other means, bring some water to a rolling boil. How much water you boil depends on how much you want to put it in your press. While your water is boiling, scoop at least two table spoons of coffee into your press. If you wish to make your coffee stronger, scoop more to fit your taste. The third step comes when your water is finished boiling. Carefully pour your water into your press, and then stir the coffee water mixture with a non-metallic spoon to make sure the taste of the coffee isn’t watered down. Let it sit for at least five to ten minutes depending on how strong you prefer it. Once the minutes have passed, press the long handle down a couple of times with a free hand. This action is what steeps the coffee beans, making the taste thorough and thicker than your regular cup of coffee. The last step is what makes every cup unique. Pour your preferred amount carefully into a cup, and add whatever other ingredients (milk, sugar, creamer, etc.) that you find to you’re your coffee enjoyable. After you stir them in, take a good long sip, and experience the feeling of how the French Press makes your coffee thicker, stronger, and almost like an Espresso from your local coffee
