1- Discuss Romeo’s infatuation with Rosaline , and later with juliet. Is Romeo truly in love with these girls, or is it something else.

Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare talking about two young lovers who fell in love with each others whose deaths reconcile their family.

At the beginning of the play we see Romeo the young handsome man who came from a wealthy family falling in love with a young girl named Rosaline. Rosaline is Capulet’s niece and Juliet cousin . Romeo describe her as wonderfully beautiful ” the …show more content…

She has obviously not requited his love, and that made him very depressed. Romeo gives the reader a lot of indication that he is unhappy and how miserable he feel after he lost his love to her. He doesn't
Hamed 2 think he will ever get over Rosaline. "This love feel I, that feel no love in this" "Love sucks.” Romeo hate feeling this way.When Romeo sees Juliet at the Capulet's party, he forgets about Rosaline and quickly fall in love with juliet .

We can notice that Romeo is immature and he can't tell the difference between love and desire as he falls in and out of love so easily. I believe that the lack of maturity of Romeo lead him to easily forget about what he called true love”Rosaline” so quickly and fall with juliet in a brief time. “O, she doth teach the torches to “ (Act I, Scene 5) when Romeo first saw Juliet dancing with a knight; he notice the beauty of Juliet and he thought that she will be so great that she could teach the torches how to burn bright. We can see romeo love from first time he saw juliet.

Romeo doesn't know how to overcome his feelings, he can't tell the difference between love and infatuation .

Infatuation is passion, a short lived feeling and that what we see between romeo and rosaline . Love in other hand, is choice ,it is a decision to continue to trust ,admire and to commit .

I believe that Romeo feeling is infatuation and we can notice that on the quick switch between Rosaline and juliet. Romeo after he lost the love of Rosaline fall in love with Juliet very quickly .I personally believe that it was infatuation.Romeo was already “in love” with rosaline when he met Juliet. They loved each others before they even spoke i don’t think it is a true love.
Juliet was looking for a way to get out of the arranged married from Paris And for her marrying romeo was the perfect way; in the other hand Romeo was just trying to get over Rosaline. He was so depressed so emotional he was just looking for some replacement.

In my opinion , I think that Romeo feeling was only infatuation because he was trying to find a way out to forget his misery and his depression.Romeo feeling was not true love towards the woman in his
