Could you imagine living during the time when Jackson was President, it would be awful because he was closed minded and did what he wanted, and did not really listen to the citizens, just like a king does. Jackson acted more like a king than a president in many ways. He did what he wanted to during the Indian removal Act, Ignored slavery and racism issue, and ignored Congress and did what he wanted.
The Indian Removal Act was when the Indians were forced of their own land and forced West where many of them died. In the text “The Indian Removal Policy”, said that “the Cherokee Indians took the state of Georgia to court because Georgia was forcing the them off their own land.” The court said that the Indians had the right to stay there, but Jackson thought differently he rounded them up at gunpoint and forced them West. On the Jacksonian Democracy Characteristics document it says that he ignored the slavery and racism issue. He did not do anything about the slavery issue. He owned slaves himself and he did not care about equality for black people, he didn't really pay any mind to it. This shows that he acted more like a king because he didn’t care about the slaves and he didn’t try to stop slavery he did what he wanted to do and he was a slave owner.
Jackson ignored congress and did what he wanted. On the Economic Issue document it said, “Ignore congress and force treasury secretary to change”. He wanted the federal government to take all their money out of the US. bank and put it into state banks, but congress said that he could not change the secretary. This shows that he acted more like a king because he wanted the money to be removed from the US bank and put into State banks he changed treasury secretary so that they would do what he
