In the bible, there is a strong reoccurring theme of people of poor moral character or in a position of low social status in their society making a transformation for the better within themselves after following Jesus and the word of God. When a human follows the laws and does what is asked of them, in return, the Lord is able to bless the person’s character, making them shed the skin of the negative things they may have done in the past and are still dwelling in, preforming a sort of positive reformation for their soul. Also, God never discriminates against any of his people no matter what; in his eyes everyone deserves an equal chance and a fresh start. God will save any of his creation, regardless of how bad some of the things they may have done in the past are; to Him, how we finish life is more important than how we begin it. This notion, that God can transform someone who isn’t the most righteous person into someone upstanding, appears in the Christian scriptures and also has roots within the Hebrew Scriptures; its purpose being to prove how significantly God’s presence can positively affect one’s life.
1 John 1 John begins with a statement concerning his testimony: he has seen the Word of life with his own eyes and he has heard Jesus’ words personally. This is important to the readers of the letter who are probably already among those who never had that opportunity. God came down to earth in the form of His son, Jesus Christ; it is a powerful thing that John is testifying to here. I like the way John says that he writes this to ‘make his joy complete’. It is as if he can’t help sharing what he knows about Jesus, and he delights in the knowledge that he can bless their lives too.
it has not been exceeded by any.” Thomas Paine understands Jesus was a good man who taught by example that we are to live a good life and share God’s love. Although Thomas Paine does not follow the guidelines set in the Bible, his life was the fruit of the good works of Christ. Similarly, I follow these beliefs, but to a more extreme. Because I believe Christ is God’s Son who was sent to die for the sins of all, I live out my faith in my actions. “Jesus replied, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
Jesus came to serve a people considerably inferior to Himself as a light to dispel darkness. The Bible tells us that we do not have to live as slaves but as sons of God and heirs to the Father's kingdom. This simply means that despite our undeserving we may turn... ... middle of paper ... ...liever now has assurance that his every sin will be forgiven dependent not on the sacrifice of an animal but on sincere repentance. God loves His people and has provided them with a way by which they can be cleansed and sanctified, making them acceptable to him. The new covenant, therefore, leads to a desire to do what is right.
However, to those who are missionaries or in lonely places, the physical presence of a Christian brother or sister alone is a “source of incomparable joy and strength” (19). To them, the words of a Christian are those of God, they receive them with “reverence, humility, and joy” (20). They treat and love their brothers as they would Christ so how much greater is the blessing of those privileged the daily Christian fellowship. Bonhoeffer defines Christianity as “community through Jesus Christ and in Jesus Christ”; it is no “more or less than this” (21). From this truth, flow a couple streams of thought: first, we “need others because of Jesus”, and second, a “Christian comes to others only through Christ” (21).
Jesus shows Mack how to lead and rich and righteous life guiding him in values as well as helping him understand Papa. I feel like the God in The Shack is a very virtuous and understanding being, and is the only one that could have helped Mack after his deep extraction from the world.
The movie Patch Adams is the story of a man who overcomes obstacles in his life to become a doctor. Unlike most people in his profession, Patch desires to connect with patients on a personal level and to make them happier. Through his help, these people’s lives were changed in a positive way. He put his patents first, unlike other doctors who cared only about strict rules and their salaries. Patch was the ideal Christian doctor who lived his life as Jesus would.
When God created man in His image he had the ability to communicate with Him. This was a journey with many challenges and sacrifices, where obedience was a requirement. “Us reveal that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit exist in relationship.”(Genesis1:26 Jeremiah Study Bible) Nevertheless, God had a relationship with His creation; they walk and talk together. “God does not love us because we are so valuable; we are valuable because God loves us”. (Sire, 2009) However, learning to integrate the two into our everyday lives can prove challenging by building and developing successfully and ethically sound relationships; everyone is accountable, not just responsible for something but also ultimately for our actions.
My family and I believe that my brother, Michael, was a miracle. Despite the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual stress and pain he has caused, he was a gift to my family. God gave him to us for many reasons, to teach us to place ourselves in others’ shoes, and what true non-judgmental caring, compassioning and empathy are. We have had our eyes truly open and all have a fresh perspective on life. He has helped us all become grateful and more appreciative, helped us learn to respect and accept others’ despite their differences and to love unconditionally.
When things seem to be at its worst its Jesus who carries the burden for me. Today’s culture takes advantage of the love Jesus has to offer, selfishness seems to be the normal act of today’s society. My Christian worldview helps my personal decisions I make with my family and career. I remember to treat others like I want to be treated (Luke 6:31, King James Version) even when other treat me unsatisfactory. My purpose is to minister to others how great God is, and to testify about the miracles he’s worked for me.
