Volunteering for me is a pleasure to help out for the community. I have volunteered sine I was in high school for many different programs. After graduating from high school, I am focusing more on volunteering with the academic aspect which involves helping children to be able to build up logical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and to be responsible.
I have volunteered at the Minnesota Children’s Museum after I graduated from high school. My role in this program was playologist, which means playing and helping kids from kindergarten to fifth grade to understand the implements and the incipient information. My mission was to help kids to gain more experience and knowledge, which help them on developing their motivation, creative, confidence, connectivity and critical

These things will give them great benefits on their learning skills. In addition, experimenting new things may put a big impact on their development and problem solving skills. I once played with a six-year-old boy who left a good memory for me. We were building a bridge in our world area, and he told me that he wanted to be an engineer in the future. He showed me an example of his own designing of a bridge by using blocks and things that were available around. I let him acted as a boss, and I followed his order. After the bridge was completed, I was so astonished by how it looked, but more than that was the smiling achievement on the boy’s face, which was bright and shine as the sun outside, and I was so happy. I learned many things from working with kids at the young age at the Minnesota Children’s Museum. First thing is the communication skill. Smiling is the most important expression I always gave out to show people that I cared about them. Also, smiling made the connection between me and people around became closer and faster. Furthermore, by
Since I knew who I was volunteering with, I was able to enjoy volunteering with them. It also helped me become closer to some of the girls. I also love kids and teaching them new things. In addition, the topic I was teaching about also interests me so it was easy to teach them something I was very familiar with, I also gives a sense of achievement when I am able to successfully teach someone something that they can pass on to the next generation. I loved the feeling I got from volunteering.
I am going to take the class Practicum, which is a health science class where I get to work at a hospital and learn how to become a medical assistant. At the end of the year I will take the licensing exam and hopefully will be able to get a job as a medical assistant. I am also thinking of rejoining HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) because there are medical volunteering opportunities as well as school medical competitions. I now volunteer with the other members at elementary schools, parades downtown, etc. I think volunteering in any form is very good for teaching the values of service, how it’s important to give back to the community and help those who have have helped you. I volunteer for AVID and NHS.
My main focus on volunteering is to help and/or improve other individuals lives. Whether it’s a small thing like shoveling elderly neighbors driveways during the winter or a bigger thing like running youth group at the local church and leading prayers. Not only do the people I help get joy from it, but helping others surely puts joy in my life too. Also, with the knowledge I have acquired through high school, tutoring others is something I enjoy doing because helping others understand something difficult is very important. During school, assisting teachers with going to grab printed papers or picking up excess garbage in the cafeteria after lunch are many of the things I do to improve the school and the people in it such as students and faculty staff. Like my dad always says, life isn’t about bettering yourself, it’s about offering your skills and traits to better the community and the people in
volunteering is a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task. In this report i will talk about the different types of volunteering in the:
Why I want to volunteer I am directionless. Lost in a sea of people; people who all seem to know what they want to do with their lives. Volunteering can help me find a direction, a path that I want to be on. Assisting patients and workers provides more information on working in a hospital than any course or the internet can provide.
Volunteering is a large part many nonprofit organizations. A volunteer is choosing to donate their personal time and resources to the cause they support. By volunteering, an individual has an outlet to express their values or embrace a particular culture within pout society.
Three years ago, I decided to help out at the Valley Children’s Museum (VCM), a non-profit organization which brings play-based creative learning to younger children. What started out as a weekend project, helping the staff organize activities for 2-10 year olds, became a passion to help children discover and learn through hands-on exhibits. I was inspired by the laughs and the excitement in the eyes of underserved children who otherwise have limited opportunities
Because of my early interest in children, I developed a strong desire to teach; consequently, I sought out jobs that allowed me varied experiences with children. My first experience was baby-sitting. Here I quickly learned that children must be told precisely what to do. For example, "Go wash your hands with soap and dry them right now." Or, "You must take your shoes off and then you may get into the bathtub." From the many baby-sitting jobs I had, I soon discovered that if I did not have a plan the day would be total chaos. As early as thirteen I became familiar with the need for structure and creativity when dealing with younger children and found myself loving every minute of it.
I have been involved in many volunteer programs and have shown leadership skills throughout volunteering and also in the workplace. Volunteering gives me a sense of pride and acknowledgement. Giving back to the community is an important way to make connections, create relationships and build an environment in which is positive: allowing others to feed of from. Throughout the coming years I look forward to getting involved in a number of programmes and helping out a variety of communities.
Palm Springs is a pretty small community, but like any community we have issues surrounding our city. My local AVID class at Palm Springs high school wanted each of the students to find a topic surrounding poverty and ways that we can give back to the community. Our project was to make a powerful presentation with facts and why the poverty topic we picked was important. Many of the students had very strong presentations, but one poverty topic stood out the most. Child poverty and homelessness was something that each of us wanted to give back I think it was an important topic because it could affect anyone. One of the main reasons why we wanted to give back was because children live in households where they have to skip meals or eat less to
Booker T. Washington once said, “ If you want to lift yourself up, lift someone else up”. This quote is meant to stress the importance of volunteering and how it not only benefits the people in need but also the volunteers. Volunteering is an essential aspect of society because it teaches responsibility, humbleness , and helps save money. A wide range of people use volunteer services including senior citizens and disabled veterans. The Salvation Army is the world’s second largest nonprofit organization. The Salvation Army gets the majority of its funds by donations and from stores that are maintained by volunteers and the people that they assist. The stores use donated goods as their merchandise. Every cent that is made by the Salvation Army
A common misconception about volunteering is that it only helps the cause. Often times that aspect is the only part that is highlighted when the topic of donating time comes up. There is a different side of volunteering though. Many volunteers donate their time to help better the community they live in and the people that live in it. When they choose to do this they not only help others but they are also helping better themselves. Volunteering benefits a person by building connections with peers, improving family life, expanding career skills, overcoming self doubt, having lasting life impressions, and creating new opportunities.
A reflection of my volunteering experience can be summarized in two words: Life-changing. It is hard to explain the feelings that occur when you involve yourself in selfless acts for your community, such as volunteering. There is a feeling in your heart that you cannot ignore, maybe it is the happiness you feel or the overflow of emotions in helping others. In other words, it is a feeling in which you want to share with others. Maybe with a friend, maybe a classmate, maybe a family member, or maybe even a stranger. Either way, spreading how life-changing volunteering can be is a great start to making a positive change in your community by simply by involving others.
If you had the opportunity to change the world and your life, would you? I have many experiences with volunteering and each time it has left an impressionable effect on me and benefitted the world because of it. Volunteerism gives a person the opportunity to change people’s lives, including your own. Volunteering is crucial to a functioning society and can better the world one person at a time. Volunteerism is essential to creating a functioning society, personal well being, and advancing careers.
Though, the concept of community service is not very new its importance has developed in the past few years. There are thousands of organizations all over the world that engage and hold millions of young people all through the world. People of all age groups, with a maximum number of youth are involved in the process of community service. Community-based organizations include; social service organizations, non-profit providers and associations that engage both young people as well adults as volunteers. The process is beneficial both for the individuals as well as the society. Without community service people would not know the meaning of charity and giving back. Community service can be defined as a service that is performed for the benefit of the public. Community service is not a responsibly or an obligation; it is a commitment. A person must want to do it with good intentions and not because they are being forced to do so. Basically, community service is a way for a person to give back to a community in which they live.
