I have chosen to do my research on time management. My goal from this study is to explore the positive impact of time management strengths as they apply to my work structure. My position requires me to meet project deadlines. I believe effective time management is important for my professional and personal development. At my workplace my priorities are set by others. Sometimes my schedule is about compromise and is sometimes set by necessity and apathy. Seeking a healthy outlook on how to use time, keeping priorities straight, completing tasks and meeting deadlines is why I have chosen to implement time management changes in how I perform part of my job. According to the MSG Experts, “Time Management refers to managing time effectively so that the right time is allocated to the right activity. Effective time management allows individuals to assign specific time slots to activities as per their importance. Time Management refers to making the best use of time as time is always limited.” I will be implementing the procedures of managing my time effectively so that my valuable time is allocated to the right activities and avoiding procrastinating when I feel overwhelmed. As I work toward my simple cue of deploying two computers per day as I am reminded of John Hoover text that contained, the Eastern Proverb that states that “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, p. 14.” This statement adds to my confidence in my ability to work towards a new habit in an attainable way that helps me manage my new habit. The research could potentially have a significant impact on my ability to stay on task and finish projects on time and meet deadlines. Failing to reach my objective will jeopardize my goal. An example of my Servant Leadership skill is when I provide my cell phone number to the contractors, so that they can contact me direct if they need help resolving an issue, which enables them to complete the task and feel self-gratification for a job well done. From this point on my plan is to continue my new habit. The research has proven that there is no room for procrastination when there are deadlines and goals to be met. Conceptualization also played a part in my success, I had to think beyond the present day needs and stretch it into a possible future. Managing my time more effectively has had a positive effect on my daily output and ultimately will also have a positive effect on my year end success. Appendix A Appendix B
