Introduction
Sustainable environment practices are important in order to support smart growth. As humans, the environment ‘the Earth’ is our home. It is where we live, breathe, eat, raise our children, etc. Our entire life support system is dependent on the well-being of all the species living on earth. In other word is biosphere where all living things are inter-dependent to each other. Unfortunately the planet is in danger, the environment deterioration threatens our earth’s natural resources and many species of animals and plants are nearing distinction where most of them are nonrenewable resources. Therefore, as a responsible human kind, the challenge is to take a drastic action so that we can make a differences in our lifetime to save our home.
Toxic tides: risks from harmful microalgae
This article was written about the urges of monitoring our local coastal waters from harmful algal bloom (HAB). HAB or red tide also referred as discoloration of water happens when the presence of sudden population of a toxic-producing microalgae caused by the enrichment of water. It was not only paint the water red, but some cases it turn the water cloudy, brown or foamy. This phenomenon also known as eutrophication was happened due to the process by which a body of water becomes enriched in dissolved nutrients (phosphate, nitrogen, etc) that can stimulate the growth of aquatic plant life which usually resulting in the depletion of dissolved oxygen necessary for marine's life.
Among the area that have severely affected was in Sabah where mass mortality of marine life has been first reported in 1976. In early 2013 at least, 40 civilians poisoning from consuming contaminated shellfish has been reported in Sepaggar and Inanam near Kota Kinab...

Conclusion
Until recently environmental issue has been largely ignored in conventional economic analysis and decision-making, whose main objective has generally focused on profit maximization. Countries that disagree over the nature and scope of the threats the environment faces and the way to deal with those threats, with scientific, cultural, and economic considerations all playing roles in these disagreements. However, it is the responsibility of everyone to protect our environment. Let us fulfill our responsibilities in environmental protection, creating a quality ecological environment and sharing wonderful green living together.
Our existence depends on how well we plan and implement policy through international cooperation. As our population continues to increase in the twenty-first century, it will provide us with the clue about how government makes sustainable plans about our future generations. Our present generation continues to consume more resources than what is presently in production, thus increasing the consumption level which has created water shortages, forest depletion for urbanization, more energy consumption, and food crisis, diseases and many more environmental problems. As the result of this, an evolution of transboundary effects are occurring. Our needs are changing to focus on environmental pollution and natural resource management, soil erosion,
Red Tide, commonly labeled as Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs), is a natural phenomenon that is caused by an explosion of algae in coastal waters. The algae are single celled protists; plant-like organisms. Because the algae reproduce expeditiously, they manage to alter the color of coastal oceans. However, the name "Red Tide" is a misnomer; many times, the ocean can be multiple colors, ranging from green to blue to yellow. Overall, Red Tide has many negative effects on the environment as well as the health of both humans and animals alike.
In an effort to create a sustainable global environment a significant area of focus needs to be on the interrelationships that contribute to this goal. As with the relationships associated with globalization our actions are interconnected with one another, one nations decisions in a particular geographical area can often times impact those in another geographical areas. The same cause and effect theory applies to environmental interrelationships. An area that this can be most prevalent...
There is no doubt that human activity is having a significant impact on our environment. These environmental impacts include depleting our natural resources, air and water pollution, climate change, destruction of habitats, and loss of biodiversity. Because of these growing concerns, we need to learn how to live sustainably. Living sustainably will allow us to conserve our limited resources more wisely so they will be available for future generations (Withgott & Brennan, 2011, Chapter 1).
The environment is a part of us and we of it. We cannot survive without each other. Since the dawn of time, it has nurtured and provided for us. Now it is our turn to nurture and preserve the environment. The future in uncertain, but if the entire human species can adapt a more reasonable lifestyle, there is hope for the environment and every living thing in it. Time is of the essence, therefore, immediate actions and ethical decisions are necessary for survival of the planet.
Water pollution is a serious problem for the whole world. It threatens the health, humans, plants, and animals. As the world became more industrial and smaller due to communications and trade, unplanned and dangerous dumping has contributed to the problem of sea pollution. All water pollution is dangerous to the health of living organisms, but sea and river pollution can be especially harmful to the health of humans and animals. Rivers and seas are used as main sources of clean water by populations all over the world. Another serious result of this pollution is the effect of this pollution on trade in the polluted areas.
Traditionally, environmental issues have been put on the backburner in the past and put behind other critical issues. However, near the end of the twentieth century and currently in the twenty first century people have come to the realization that maybe we should pay more attention to our environment around us. The awareness of the importance of the well being of the environment brings the question “Are we(humans) taking current environmental issues too lightly?”. Unfortunately the answer to that question is a resounding yes. Numerous environmental studies have shown that unless we take serious action to restore the health of our environment, we will be at serious risk. The risks posed to us, wildlife and the environment stem from the loss of natural resources, loss of biodiversity, rapid pollution and the most detrimental, global warming (climate change). Those factors increase the deterioration of the environment exponentially. The continual degradation of the environment will eventually lead to the demise of the human population.
Everything that we need for our survival and well being, depends either directly or indirectly on our natural environment. Sustainability creates and maintains the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony (Environmental Protection Agency, 2005). It is the development to maintain or sustain condition in order to provide improved long-term economic health and stable social and cultural quality system as well as preserve or protect environment (Goldie, 2005). Being sustainable and saving energy has huge economic benefits. Economic benefits of being sustainable for the local community make being sustainable a far better and cheaper choice than most practices we use now.In terms of local businesses, huge amounts of money can be saved by being sustainable and using resources such as energy and water more efficiently. Businesses often lose huge amounts of money each year by using their resources poorly, which could be prevented if businesses made simple changes to improve sustainability (Hannah Barker, 2012). Although it is easier for large companies to implement environmental initiatives to become sustainable, smaller businesses and companies find it more difficult because of costs. But it is shown that being sustainable will save companies and businesses money long term and cover all costs used to set up the sustainable practices. As well as saving money through effective use of resources, being sustainable also gives a positive reputation to the company, attracting customers that way.People living in the community can do simple things like setting their homes thermostat a few degrees lower, which will save the community hugely on energy costs. Members of the community taking shorter showers, cutting do...
The future, it seems so far off; depending on one’s perspective, it is a week, a month or years. The future, from an environmental perspective is now. Changing behaviour in the present will set the world up for a better future. Understanding sustainability and what it means to be eco-literate is seemingly hard for some, which begs the question, when should ecologising education begin? This essay aims to summarise the extent of educating for a sustainable future and analyse how relevant it is. The concept of ecological literacy is explored along with its benefits and limitations. This essay was written from the viewpoint that everyone has a role in moving towards sustainability, beginning as early as early childhood.
Sustainable development means that the present generations should be able to make use of resources to live better lives in such a manner that it doesn’t compromise the ability of future generations to survive and make better lives for themselves as well. For sustainable development to occur, there needs to be sustainable economic, ecological and community development. Society needs to be educated about ways in which they can use resources, especially natural, in such a manner that it doesn’t cause harm to the environment and put future generations lives at risk.
The environment today is not in a good condition, Climate change is evident, and oceans are getting polluted. Rainforrest's are decreasing in size due to deforestation and illegal logging. Animals are getting extinct due to the destruction of their habitats. Natural resources are being consumed at very large amounts, and get wasted. There are different ways these problems can be addressed, one option is environmental management. Environmental management focuses on conservation of natural resources, protection of habitats, and impact of humans on the environment. Conservation of natural resources is the smart use of the world's resources by humans, through this waste production is limited, and there will be less garbage in the world. By conserving
Today talking about environmental issues lately to be like a common topic discussion until people take it for granted. However, the world facing a complex environmental problems related to each trouble that connected to one another and come out with greater impacts to the environment and humans. This is because the effects of environmental only can be seen in long term period rather than immediately result show up. Environmental issues must become one of the controversial matters in the society in order to make people know the truth what the world currently facing. There were a lot of environmental disaster happened such as climate change, global warming, various of pollutions, earthquake and etc. the rise of environmental issues begin with this urban development occur through several countries following with the technologies equip along. For sure, development will cause a huge negative impact to the environment if it deals without a care. Besides, the environment is the place in the ecosystem to hold and use in finding resources to continuously survive in this world. Thus, the finding and digging for the resources which happening extensively without preservation will not restore the surrounding similar with before. But then, the change cannot be refuse and people need to take an action to save the threaten the world and the ecosystem from being extinct. If each country has own output in causing an environmental problem, then consider the world to hold all the damage occurred. Exposing the effects of environmental issues throughout the world, make people realize the important to take care the environment.
Modern humans have inhabited this Earth for long periods of time and dwelled for much of it without causing much irrevocable harm to the environment. However, the widespread abuse, overexploitation, and pollution started affecting the environment negatively over the last few centuries. The environment is not only the undeveloped land, such as forests, oceans, deserts, etc. When we hear the term environment, maybe some of us may think of the times they have been at a local or national park, visited the beach, or took a trip to the mountains. It is true that each of these is an example of the environment, but also our home, school, work, car; even we are a part of the environment. The environment is everything that surrounds us on the Earth.
Is it right that future generations, who have committed no crimes, be forced to live in a contaminated environment with freshwater depletion, polluted air, global warming and biodiversity reduction just because our present generation has caused the damage? Should our future children be ensured an ecologically healthy environment? I think they should. I strongly believe that protecting the environment is extremely important. We are all part of the environment; Earth is what we all share in common. It is our home and we are obliged to preserve it. As someone who is aware, who cares and who is concerned, I’d like to help you understand why protecting our environment is vital. I believe that protecting the environment is essential for healthy living, in creating a healthful environment for our future generation and last but not least, the Earth is our one and only home.
The environment around us gives us the habitat to live, is a condition for our existence and development so that protecting environment which is one of today’s most serious issues means protecting our lives. But almost every day we hear a new problem badly affecting the environment. The list of the new difficulties seems to be endless. We are all aware of these concerns and can admit that we caused them. Now, environmental protection is not the work of a single individual as it is the responsibility of the whole community, of every single person exists on this planet. The measures range from each citizen to the government.
