United States’ President Ronald Reagan once said, “Preservation of our environment is not a liberal of conservative challenge, it’s common sense (Ronald).” Although throughout history countless of prominent figures in society have set the issue of the well being of our planet as a top priority, the majority of the world population has come to ignore it until now, when it has directly affected their lives. Around the entire globe, droughts, floods, food shortages, poverty, and the overall deterioration of our planet. Although larger developed countries, such as the United States and China, have taken numerous small steps to improve conditions within their own countries further steps must be taken to preserve the only planet the human population has from its inevitable doom.

The Republic of Bolivia believes that, for the purpose of giving all countries the opportunity to improve the quality of the environment in said countries, the developed nations should provide monetary support or essential resources of equal value for the developing nations. Responsible for only 0.04% of global emissions (Climate), Bolivia has come to face dire consequences for the mistakes and wastefulness of foreigners. Global climate change has had a tremendous effect on Bolivia in five areas: food shortages, “glacial retreat and water availability; natural disasters; diseases and forest fires (Climate).” In the Bolivian Andes, temperatures have tripled and have led to rapidly melting glaciers (Climate). In between the years of 1975 and 2006, the Cordillera Real glaciers decreased by 40% in total volume (Climate), leading to water supply shortages. The republic of Bolivia will continue to voice its needs, along with the needs of fellow developing country’s, for whatever means necessary and continue to be an angry voice for all developing nations. Bolivia demands that “any financing be paid out in full and rapidly” by developed nations (Water and Ice). Bolivia is confident that at this conference all of the developing and developed nations alike will make major reforms to help reduce their global emissions and help to clean up the environment. Bolivia also urges UNFCCC to persuade the developed nations to support the most impacted developed nations in order to help preserve the environment. As such, the republic of Bolivia feels positively towards the result of this conference and offers its support to in maintaining our only home, planet Earth, in the best condition possible.
