The Importance of the Boston Tea Party is that the colonists are revolting against the British government. In doing so they destroyed and discarded tea from the ships into the ocean. It is a response to taxes they have to pay under the Tea Act. The Battle of Lexington and Concord is significant because it is the first armed conflict between the British and the colonists. This all started because of the way the British treated the colonists through the laws and taxes.
