As was discussed in Kennedy’s article, “Facility planners can 't necessarily anticipate what technological changes are on the horizon that will send education in a new direction, but they should acknowledge technology 's growing influence in making education more student-centered and individualized and they should create learning environments flexible enough to embrace new technological trends” (p.31). That being said, there are several components to consider in creating a school flexibility in order to adapt to the ever changing nature of technology.
First, it would seem that in order to be able to adapt to the frequent changes of technology, schools must have a technology integrator, media specialist, or even better, a whole tech. team

Teachers also cultivate the culture of their classrooms. Make mico-shifts in their approach to technology and see how it affects learning. He follows up by saying that we should try only one thing at a time in order to avoid overwhelming ourselves or our students. And I believe that can be said for school-wide or district-wide initiatives. Finally, he suggests teachers document what they’ve tried, how it worked, and to share their learning. This is where the PLNs will play an integral part in teacher innovation and flexibility to new technology. Within the past few decades, technology has immensely increased in use and availability. As a result, millions of people worldwide have taken advantages of benefits technology has supplied. In addition to these contemporary people, schools are realizing the possibility technology provides in the classroom and are implementing the use of them in their curriculum. The twenty-first century has arrived, and it has brought some of the most advanced computing technologies into the classroom; this leaves us with a very important question, do we really need technology, such as iPads or computers, implemented in our learning plans? As a student that has taken entire courses on iPads or computers, I can tell you that the former is not the case. There are plenty of reasons to teach about technological advances in each individual field of learning, but, more often than not, technology is unreliable and distracting for students. Not to mention that methods of maintenance rehearsal, like taking notes by hand, are more effective for recollection of information than staring into a screen. The bottom line is, using technology as a tool for education in the classroom is not necessary because it can inhibit the way students learn material.
The only problem is that some of today's schools are hindered by an under-powered technology based curriculum and, in order to stay competitive, the American educational system must do a better job of integrating. Computers have made a fundamental change in most industries, providing a competitive advantage that has come to be essential to stay in business. Therefore, education must also use technology to improve the educational process instead of simply applying it to existing structures. School systems often consider acquiring an enterprise computer network, but justify its purchase by applying it to routine administrative tasks, or take period by period attendance.
