Technology is part of our future, we are always using it in life, it makes no sense to exclude it from schools. To prepare students for their future and encourage them to forever learn is the job of a teacher. As the overseers of teachers, these are your standards and students as well. To teach and incorporate without technology is unproductive in preparing our students for their futures. We must teach for the students. We cannot be selfish and teach in the ways that we want. Influences, concerns of money, and testing are negative influences. Technology is enrichment, interaction, learning, and an undeniable part of their future. Technology brings in the possibilities of outside interaction and help. We have an unlimited number of resources …show more content…

In this text, the author explores the role that technology currently plays in schools and in education in general, as well as future consequences that will occur depending on whether society continues to insist on a type of education that is relatively lacking in technology or decides to embrace the options available whole-heartedly. There are both gains...
I would have that one student join another group, forming a group of three. The students would take turns acting as readers and coaches, respectively. I would monitor them to ensure all three students have a chance to be in both roles. I would also take into account the extra student’s performance level when forming this three-member group to ensure the grouping runs smoothly.
Within the past few decades, technology has immensely increased in use and availability. As a result, millions of people worldwide have taken advantages of benefits technology has supplied. In addition to these contemporary people, schools are realizing the possibility technology provides in the classroom and are implementing the use of them in their curriculum. New technologies in the classroom, however, provoke some concerns amongst those planning to utilize their potential benefits; schools must consider the prospectively detrimental implications and effects technology holds to the user whether it be that they forge a skewed and impractical view of reality or that they promote an inability to think independently.
According to Stiggins and Chappuis, assessment is a system of harvesting data of student learning (2012). The information gathered guides educative decisions; it provides a tangible measurement of subject mastery. In their book An Introduction for Student-involved Assessment, Stiggins and Chappuis offer two essential components to valid and useful assessment (2012). First, student performance data must be accurate. In addition, results must benefit students by stimulating desire to learn and maintaining achievement levels.

I have written a introduction letter that explains the purpose of portfolios as well as the requirements. I will send this letter home with my students the first week of class. I have designed pre and post-tests for reading and writing. We will use these assessments to measure student growth. These assessments will be part of the student portfolio. I also wrote a list of reading and writing activities for the students to choose from during independent work time. My plan is to reserve each Friday for independent work time. In the beginning of the year I will teach the students my expectations for behavior on Fridays. In the beginning of the year, I will use a teacher-managed approach with the intent of transitioning to student-managed time. On these days students will conduct reading and writing activities of their own choosing. They will self-evaluate their work and record in on a skills tracking form, the same form they used to record their pre-test scores. I will also conduct one-on-one conferences with students during independent work time. The first few weeks of school I will meet with each student to review their goals and their choice of activities. After that, I will let the students sigh up for conferences. As a part of their portfolio students will have to include evidence of self-reflection as well. At the end of the semester, I will sit down with each student and
... other students. This proved rather challenging within our learning circle group as neither the Social Work Students or the Primary Education students had any idea. It had been said by one of the three social work students that they thought it was all about ‘arts and crafts’ and that we had no real involvement with social work or education departments. The whole learning circle was challenging, there was very little or no input from some group members. Opinions and ideas were requested and nothing was offered back in to the group.
Technology is growing every day. We use technology for everything we do, sometimes without even thinking about it. In our world, these advancements are used for communicating, entertainment, and education as well as others. Since technology is so ingrained into our lives, how much we use and depend on it is often not thought about. Our education system is on the front end of using new technology in classrooms. More and more class room and teachers are weaving it into their lesson plans and making it more available for students to use in the classroom. Technology is changing the way students are educated in America and across the world. In this paper I will discuss several ways that this can be seen and improved.

The Importance of Technology Education in Schools The education world has been greatly influenced by rapidly changing technology and the increasing availability of information. Schools have advanced by leaps and bounds when it comes to incorporating technology into the learning environment, however, many more advances need to be made. In all areas of the country, educators are trying to help students keep up with technology, but there are more changes that are essential to preparing the next generation for the future. By increasing computer usage by students, installing classroom Internet access and providing instructional classes dedicated to software and hardware education, schools have tried to provide an up-to-date education for students. This is all very important, but is it enough?
Whether technological integration has positive or negative impacts on teaching and learning has been paid increasing attention and a numerous research has done to explore the issue. Technology in education is a touchy subject in the United States. Many parents believe that technology will only hurt their child in future, while some believe that technology will help their child. Parents have to be open and must allow themselves, to see what is happening before they make their decision.
