English is very important language usage widely as a communication device. In Indonesia, English is become an important language to be taught regarding its role as international relationship among countries. English is introduced in Indonesia from primary school until senior high school. Even in University, English is required to be learnt by the student as one of the compulsory subject.
Introducing English in primary school seems to be good step to heighten students’ English competence. Harmer (2007) stated that children learn faster than adult do. The earlier the children are introduced to the target language, the faster and the better they acquire the language. They can be divided into two groups; younger group (6 – 8 years old) and older group (9 – 12 years old). Basically, the teachers have to remember the importance of teaching English for young learners is creating kid’s interest in learning English Suyanto (2007: 15) in Savitri and Hidayat (2014). In achieving the goal, the teacher should conceive the kid characteristic to choose the appropriate method. According to Suyanto (2007: 16) in Savitri and Hidayat (2014), there are ten kids’ characteristics that can be used in analyzing English teaching:
1. Generally, in the age of 5 – 7 years old, kid is egocentric. So they usually relate what they learn or do with themselves. When they learn English, they like learning something, which relate with their daily life such as family, favorite fruit, favorite food, etc. Kid feels happy when their teacher asks them about the color of their clothes or talk about their …show more content…

For example, if the grammar point is adjectives, and the lyrics are, “I’m so tired,” the fill-in-the-blank worksheet will show, “I’m so ______.”. Give your students the worksheets and have them try to fill in the blanks while listening to the song.
b. Scrambled lyrics
Another popular activity is to cut up all the lyrics. Most people separate them by line, but you could even do it by phrase, that’s your choice. Divide the class into teams and give each team a set of lyrics. Play the song and have them try to put all the lines in the correct order.
c. Act out the verb
If the song you are playing uses a lot of verbs, play the song for them once without any lyrics. Every time the students recognize a verb, they have to act it out. This can be a lot of fun and gets the class relaxed.
d. Listening for points
To introduce a song to the class, divide them into two teams. Explain that the song contains a certain grammar point that you have been studying. If someone hears that grammar point, they must raise their hand. If they identify it correctly, their team gets a point. It’s a good idea to pause the song at this point so that you don’t miss
