This helps reduce travel and ultimately a reduction in carbon footprint which is one of the corporate social activities towards a global village for its sustainability.
Microsoft developed technology such as cloud computing for speedy infrastructure deployment, reducing overall energy cost and increased efficiencies. Microsoft cloud infrastructure housed with its smart, advanced data center designed to reduce power loss through improved cooling, minimize water, while increasing computing capacity, software capabilities and server utilization and reduces carbon footprint that is managed as part of its sustainable energy management program which saves energy when replacing clients locally operated inefficient servers (Cloud Computing and Sustainability, n,

It also invested in many programs across its worldwide operation to reduce environmental impact from manufacturing facilities, software product efficiency and supply
Environmental sustainability is when a person, community or area is able to meet the needs of the present, without compromising the needs of the future. Overconsumption will lead to hardship in the future, and possibly to the destruction of the planet’s finite resources; and if we continue using our resources as at current rates, which have been estimated to be 4 planets worth of resources, this will be inevitable. Populations are all the inhabitants of a specific area/country and this population can be controlled in various methods such as population policies, like the ones in China, Kerala and France; as well as control via migration by putting on limits.
Sustainability is broadly characterized as addressing the present generation’s needs without jeopardizing the future generations to address their own issues. Sustainable procedures are those that outcome from an establishment's commitment to environmental, social and economic, or the "triple bottom line." The term "sustainability," is the advancement of a procedure or management framework that serves to maintain economy and high standard of life while regarding the need to maintain natural resources and secure the nature.
When creating a working definition of a sustainable global environment there is a short definition and a long definition. The short of definition of a sustainable global environment is an environment in which all living things can co-exist together while having their essential needs to sustain life met. This definition, while ideal, is probably not realistic due to the fact that humans in many cases are not simply satisfied with living with only the essential needs that sustain life. That leads to the more realistic but complex definition of a sustainable global environment. This definition focuses on sustainability, stewardship, science, political policy and globalization. Sustainability focuses on not depleting needed resources. Stewardship is the moral framework in which our public and private actions are made. The science aspect of a sustainable global environment is the information that decisions, including mandated policy, are made on. The final aspect is globalization, which refers to the interconnectedness humans and the environment share with each other on a global level. Regardless of the definition that is used, the goal is the same, sustaining a high quality of life for all creatures while not exhausting the needed resources to do so.
Sustainability is when something can be used and not be depleted, destroyed, or damaged past recovery. As we work to live sustainably, we are in effect making use of our resources in a fashion that doesn't eliminate them, and doesn't harm their source. Our resources come from the environment around us and we need to make sure that it is not harmed as we use it. According to the EPA, sustainability stems from a single principle that "Everything that we need for our survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment” (Sustainability Information). Considering this, it's obvious why we need to make sure we live sustainably and do not damage the source of our resources, our environment.
When globalization spread over each part of the world, it influences several aspects of the habitat where we live. For that reason, human beings consider the concept of sustainable development which is defined as sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
There are some various definitions of sustainable community, but mainly it is defined as advocating sustainable living by which the communities were planned, built, or modified to support sustainability within the specification. They focus on more than just the environmental issues by creating and sustaining focus on the economic, social equality, community health, urban structure and resources and local government. They continue to confront and address the challenges and issues through seeking cooperative solutions instead of disjointed suggestions targeted to meet some goals while over looking others. They also know that they must focus on the long-term as well as the current day. The core of community sustainability is the interaction and
Over my time in this program my conception of sustainability has changed multiple times and will continue to adjust as my education and horizons expand over time. Sustainability can be briefly defined as balancing the wellbeing of humanity, the environment and our global/local economy. The goal of this movement isn't to eliminate the existing systems, but instead shift these exploitive systems into a more resilient, efficient and overall long lasting model. An additional overarching concept of sustainability to me, is considering the whole and all possible impacts on all possible parties involved.
Sustainability is a concept with a diverse array of meanings and definitions – a widely used glamorous, ambiguous, ambivalent and vague concept that is used by different stakeholder groups in various ways. Presumably to avoid noodling over a terminology or to avoid the confrontation with a definition, most widely the concept is broken down a planning process (c.f. e.g. Döring & Muraca, 2010). That is why most common sustainability is understood as sustainable development.1
Sustainable development refers to not only meet the needs of contemporary people, but also not compromising the ability of future generations to meet development needs.Sustainable development and environmental protection have established contact, not the same. Environmental protection is an important aspect of sustainable development. The core of sustainable development is development, but requires strict control of the population, improve population quality and protect the environment for the conduct of economic and social development under the premise of sustainable use of resources.
The future, it seems so far off; depending on one’s perspective, it is a week, a month or years. The future, from an environmental perspective is now. Changing behaviour in the present will set the world up for a better future. Understanding sustainability and what it means to be eco-literate is seemingly hard for some, which begs the question, when should ecologising education begin? This essay aims to summarise the extent of educating for a sustainable future and analyse how relevant it is. The concept of ecological literacy is explored along with its benefits and limitations. This essay was written from the viewpoint that everyone has a role in moving towards sustainability, beginning as early as early childhood.
Sustainable development means that the present generations should be able to make use of resources to live better lives in such a manner that it doesn’t compromise the ability of future generations to survive and make better lives for themselves as well. For sustainable development to occur, there needs to be sustainable economic, ecological and community development. Society needs to be educated about ways in which they can use resources, especially natural, in such a manner that it doesn’t cause harm to the environment and put future generations lives at risk.
Sustainability simply defined to me as balancing act between the development of sustainability is necessary for both planet Earth and humans to survive. This is reinforced in the World Commission on Environment and Development report (1987) that sustainable development must meet the needs of the present without compromising the well-being of future generations”. The Earth Charter Organization widened the idea of sustainability to respect for a culture of peace, universal human rights, nature, and economic justice (What is sustainability?, n.d.).
Mr Price Group must also protect the planet by decreasing their carbon footprint even more and start more projects such as the rooftop gardens to lessen their impact on the environment to better publicity. Mr Price Group reduced their carbon footprint by 17% or 29 500 tonnes of CO2 emissions through improved energy usage and lower energy intensive lighting. They can also increase the amount of waste recycled at the head office which is currently only at 50%.
Nature is a very important part of the life of all living organisms. Everyone should take part in keeping the environment in the best conditions possible and if not kept up as best as possible the population should be held accountable for whatever that is to happen in the environment if something bad happens. Three ways that the public could help keep the environment intact include reducing water use to prevent droughts, minimize the use of chemicals, and dispose of hazardous materials correctly.
Environmental pollution has always remained a serious problem in society today. Our planet is often being polluted by many toxins that are not only deadly to us, but our wildlife too. Environmental pollution leads to air pollution, environmental crisis, and global warming. Now there are many different ways that can help these topics be preventable. People need to understand what environmental sustainability truly is. Learning environmental sustainability will give people the tools and knowledge to help sustain our planet before it is too late. Planet earth is our home and people need to understand the damage being done to it. Understanding these important key factors will lead our planet to become healthier and a better place for life to live.
