The point guard is responsible for coordinating the entire team. If an athlete is very tall they would focus on becoming a center or power forward. According to the N.B.A after considering the college a person wants to commit to, the athlete must have the necessary skills such as the ability to dribble a basketball, shoot a basketball, and the player must have stamina to run up and down the basketball court. Although basic basketball skill is required there are certain skills that are required for different positions such the ability to see the whole court as point guard in order to make plays. Not only do players need to have skills if they don’t the player will be at a huge disadvantage during game situations. Aside from the basics of dribbling and shooting some players specialize in certain skills and have more advanced shooting, dribbling, defense, and more because each player has a special role on the court.
