It is important for elders to have some type of social support system that is why it is crucial for them to have positive relationships with people. They tend to find that there is a greater importance in family relationships, Grandfathers tend to place higher priority their roles as advisors. There has also been an increase in grandparents who are the primary caregivers to their grandchildren, because there adult children are not able to care for them like they should.
