The term social inclusion may be used in a different context that is “related to government initiatives and funding”. The particular meaning, we will be discussing throughout the paper is individuals working towards making a positive impact on injustice issues and having all communities have a fair shot in society. (“The promotion of social Inclusion” 2 ) Referring to the University of the New England views of social inclusion and my personal perspective, I believe Social Inclusion is having equality for all people no matter of their cultural differences and having equal access to resources to help them to succeed. We cannot have social justice in society if we do not consider cultural diversity and what each individual may need to be successful The city manager that was appointed by Republican Governor Rick Snyder switch to Flint river from Detroit water system; Instead it resulted in plenty individuals breaking out in rashes, deaths, behavioral issues and the people of flint having to rely on aid water from celebrities, national guard and aid water because of the contaminated water. As the story unfolds the thoughts that came to my mind were why did it take it a year for those in charge to try to switch back to the Detroit water system. Why is money a big issue when many peoples ' lives are at stake? In both incidents were I had witnessed social inclusion being absent I believe recommendations such as those I listed below will assist with similar issues in the The competencies I have developed throughout my academic and professional career are interpersonal skills, organizational management, community involvement, listening, observational skills, and verbal communication. The area where I always struggled with ever since elementary school was my writing. I was not aware how important my writing skills were in the field that I had chosen to study until my first social work course. My first social work class I remember receiving many grades below an b because of my grammar, but receiving great grades on presentations and home -work assignments. Having a talk with one of my professors, she told me about resources on campus and tools I could use an online. Ever since the encouraging words of my professor, I made it my duty to receive extra when it came time to do reports, papers or case notes. I made sure that I started my papers on time so I could re-read my assignments before it 's due and used a writer-editor online to assist me. The journey I made through my academic career seemed easier when I had put in more time doing my coursework and learning how to ask for help when I was in need.
