Phones are now an epidemic in today 's modern society, and I am one of the many people who is a victim of it. I am on the internet around 28 hours every week. Although I solely use it to complete assignments and communicate with others, I am still being ripped away from valuable person to person connections.
I spend so much time in my day learning new things. I spend about 35 academic hours learning in a week to be exact. Although I could try and resist, I will be sure to learn multiple things in one day. I learn most of my knowledge through conversations and interactions. I am with my family around 32 hours a week, but what exactly does ‘quality time’ mean? It is an expression we hear often but is hard to describe, every family is different, and its meaning will vary from household to household. For some people it may mean pulling out the board games once a week, for others it is having in-depth conversations around the dinner table, and for some it may be enjoying a sport together. To me quality time is sitting around our countertop talking about the day 's unfortunate events, and singing songs that are playing from the living room. Spending quality time together is important to me, it confirms the strong bond that my family has and I feel more confident and secure. Building the bonds between family members can be instantaneous, or it can take work. Take my brother and I for example. We used to fight like cats and dogs. We loved each other, but we weren’t always friends. Now as we grow up we appreciate each other’s differences and lean on each other’s strengths.
