The construction industry is one of the main activities in the economy. It affects and is affected by the GDP of the country (Enshassi et al., 2007), policies of the government and regulations have a strong influence on the business (Öcal et al., 2007). The Industry of construction is at danger since there are a lot of outside and inside factors disturbing the industry. Consequently, we have to deal with the ambiguity in this industry management (Enshassi et al., 2007).

Without the team performance, it is difficult to ensure the project success, and for the leader is to have the performance of the team, and have leaders to ignite the fire of performance and range limits within the team for the activity. In addition, the project leads to success requires management to get the work done by the members of the team efficiently and effectively. This means the success of the projects has become more complicated, also a lot of the factors that influence it give a lot of importance and significance. One of the major success factors is the characteristics of the construction manager. In these situations, the construction manager must act as a manager leader with high quality leadership skills.

The aim of this research is to identify Construction manager leading characteristics that affect the success of the project in United Arab Emirates

The aim of this research can be divided into the following objectives:

- Identify methods for development of leading characteristics for construction manager.

- Investigate statistically if there is a relationship between project manager characteristics and the project failure.
