The earth population has been growing in great numbers; especially, after the industrial revolution in 1790 where the manufacturing methods changed from hand production to machine made goods. The growing amount of people’s needs living in industrialized countries was the main reason the change was necessary. Therefore, the demand of materials for new homes, for public infrastructure, as well as the need to feed the new population were the main factors for an increase in the use of our natural resources. As a consequence and many centuries later, we are using our natural resources to the point that we are depleting all of it. One of the reasons is the conflict between jobs and environment. Many people beliefs by protecting the environment could increase the unemployment rate; however, it is an argument that should be debated from the commercial point of view by taking into consideration many economic factors like financial performances of the places where the natural resources come from, and the recipient countries. Snyder in his poem “The call of the Wild” remind us what the humans can do to nature “All these Americans up in special cities in the sky / Dumping poison and explosives / Across Asia first, / and next North America, / A war against earth. / When it’s done there’ll be no place / a coyote could hide. Protecting nature and its natural resources. It is a moral duty we have to our next generation. If we are not environmentally concern about our natural world, and we do not assume our responsibility to act against the indiscriminate depredation, we are heading to an uncertain future of conflicts, wars about energy, food or water will replace border conflicts or religious differences. We need to be prepared to change the way humanity is using all earth resources through education, technology. Earth and its natural resources were a gift from nature to our humanity.
