According to this assessment I should be consuming at least 2,596 cal/day. Since one of my goals is to gain weight the healthier way, my daily intake would be significantly greater than that suggested. First lowering the amount of processed foods I consume and implementing more vegetables into my diet would allow me to achieve this. This could be sports, surfing, running, and now lifting weights five to six days a week. It has kept me busy and prevented me from being lazy. In addition, I attempt to observe my diet to limit the daily intake of unnecessary processed food. Processed foods usually contain high fat, sugar, and sodium contents. My results showed a high consumption of saturated fats and added sugars from processed foods. It would have led me to major health problems if I continued to do so unchanged. This is why every few months I tend to completely cut out fast food and junk food from my daily diet. This way I know to have some restraint when it came down to it. Also, I strive to incorporate more vegetables into my diet. They contain high nutritional values. Despite not ever being fond of eating them, I make it as the only option to eat when I was hungry. I eat them more often now because there is not other alternative, but I think of it as it is cleansing the body through detox. On more than one occasion I’ve felt a lot more proactive afterwards. Ultimately my goal is to gain weight the right way, get leaner, and improve my overall health. However, a constantly changing schedule makes it very challenging to stay away from the convenience of unhealthy meals for to
I have enough exercise from doing yoga and hiking every weekend with my family. Any time I’m free, I try to do something active that will benefit my physical health. Although I maintain my physical health pretty well, I have a difficult time to eat 3 balanced meals everyday. For example, I skip lunch almost everyday on school days because I have a lot of meetings to attend and don’t have the time to eat. Also, I skip breakfast if I wake up late and need to get to school. I need to work on eating meals everyday to satisfy my hunger even though I have no time to. It’s difficult to stay active when I don’t eat enough meals
In the report my actual calories were a bit higher than what was recommended, and my weight stayed the same. The percentage was at 107%, and that I ate over my daily recommended amount of calories. My actual calories were over, and I stayed to same weight from when I started this report. The errors that might have accrued for me is not measuring my foods, and some of the foods were not in the MyDietAnalys.com database. With this error my calorie intake might have been a little higher the reported.

After my three days of analyzing the different foods, I found that I had a number of nutrients that were below 70% of the Recommended Dietary Allowances. The first nutrient that jumped out was my protein intake, which was 208%, well over the daily allowance. Smith (n.d.)
We've all heard and learned about a balanced diet and why it is important to maintain a balanced diet at each meal. Healthy eating is one of the key pillars of a healthy life. Essentially, a balanced diet refers to a diet of a wide variety of foods packed with essential nutrients, in the right proportions consumed at the right time. A balanced diet must contain starchy foods such as bread, rice, potatoes and pasta, protein-rich foods such as fish, chicken or legumes and lentils, plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables for essential vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber, and a few fatty foods.
The food stamps program helps low income families survive by providing them with subsidized income for food. Soda has no nutritional value therefor instead of helping individuals by giving nutrition it will contribute to health problems like obesity and diabetes. The United States already has a major obesity epidemic with the lower income at a greater risk of being affected. One reason for this is that healthy food is more expensive than less healthy food. The government should step up and fund programs that promote good quality nutrients to bring down the price and help the nation get in to shape.

Drinking eight glasses of water a day was not a hard goal for me to achieve at all. To help fulfill this goal, I carried around a 74.4 ounce water jug with me. I would take small sips from it every so often, and by night time I had consumed the entire jug. On occasions where I did not have my jug, I would drink four 16.9 ounce water bottles. I stayed strong with this goal throughout the semester. Despite my success with that goal, I had a very hard time only eating out on the weekend. To help combat this issue, I tried to change the goal to eating out only two days of the week. This plan however fell through immediately. My family often time ate out during the week and it was hard to say no when I was offered (especially since I was not paying!). I also spent a lot of time with my fast food eating boyfriend; because of this I tried looking at the ‘healthier’ options that were offered by the restaurants. The healthier choices were just as bad, if not worst then what I would usually get. Overall, I think my nutritional goals were great goals, I just really need to try harder to succeed with not eating out so

For each of the three days of diet analysis, I found that I had not met the necessary calorie intake of 2,000 calories required for the type of lifestyle. On an average day, I would eat approximately 600 calories less than what is expected of me for the day. Though my calorie intake for the average day were very limited,

Many people would consider me to be fortunate because it’s a blessing to have, but however I feel like it’s also been seen as a curse. Throughout my life gaining weight was a difficult challenge. I would have to consume about 6-8,00 calories daily just to maintain weight. No matter what I did I could never gain weight. This is until I was in the Marines. It was physically and mentally demanding. In addition to that with the help of my fellow Marines in weightlifting I went from being a scrawny 125lbs kid at age of 18 to a more solid 190lbs at the age of 23. It took a lot
