Shakespeare has always found a way to make love as complicated as he can which leads me to believe that he feels that you must work for love and it should not be handed to you. Love is already complicated, but when Shakespeare is involved he makes sure at least two things come around that can make it harder for those who are in love to actually stay in love. Twelfth Night is a romantic comedy which leads to romantic love being the main focus of the play. In this play, Shakespeare shows that love can cause pain. He does this by causing a love triangle which includes; • Viola likes Duke but • Duke likes Olivia and • Olivia like Cesario who is actually Viola disguised as her twin brother.
Romeo’s feelings for Juliet are so strong that he poisons himself when he thinks that she is dead, and the feelings are returned by Juliet, shown by her decision to take a dagger to her heart when she sees that Romeo has poisoned himself. Romeo and Juliet’s relationship is one of youthful, passionate love. They are “soul mates”. Their interdependence on each other emotionally allows Shakespeare to develop this plot. Shakespeare uses this relationship between Romeo and Juliet to portray his beliefs about love.
Shakespeare took the book and changed it so it had more sympathy towards young people and made it more complex. Shakespeare also made the families in the plays to carry more hatred for the other family. Love ---- There are many types of love between many different people in this play. The first love to be perceived is brotherly love between Ben olio, mercuric and Romeo, all these three seem to live each other a lot and they get on well with each other. Mercutio, Benvolio and Romeo are all good friends, but when Romeo and Juliet get married privately tybalt became Romeos brother in law, tybalt himself never knew, and when act3 scene1 is approached and tybalt offers to fight with Romeo, Romeo states his love for juliet in act 3 scene 1 line 61: "Tybalt, the reason I have to love thee doth much cause the appertaining rage, to such a greetingâ€¦ therefore farewell I see though knowest me not â€¦" Tybalt became ignorant and asks Romeo to dram (his sword).
Many people cite Romeo and Juliet as a way to show that love leads to destruction when Romeo and Juliet died because of their love for each other. However, upon closer examination, the main reason of the lovers’ deaths was their haste in carrying out their love. If they had taken their relationship more slowly, their commitment to their love may have been able to overpower their negative circumstance. In truth, both Romeo and Juliet found meaning out of life only after they began their romantic relationship.
