Romance, in some individuals is just an animal instinct shared between the two while with others, it takes a bit of know how. If you don't seem to have this instilled in you, don't worry. If you want to share that with your lover, then you likely have the ingredients. If your lover isn't someone that you feel you want to go the extra mile with, then likely you are with the wrong partner. Learn how to kiss and how to love, and if it is meant to be, it will be.

There are important scenes in each episode of True Blood that emerge characteristics of Romanticism. Sookie is not-your-average waitress at Merlotte’s, she hears everyone thoughts all the time. When she meets Bill (vampire) and touches his hand for the first time, everyone’s thoughts disappear and she hears silence for the first time. This is one of the main reasons that attracted Sookie to Bill; Sookie finds peace and freedom when she is with him even though he is a blood thirsty vampire. For many, saying or hearing the word romanticism evokes numerous stereotypical and prejudged definitions and emotions. The biggest reason this probably happens is because of how closely romanticism sounds like romance. The similarity of the sounds and spelling of the two words can lead to some thinking that the two words mean the same thing or are closely related. Although romanticism and romance do share some similarities in their spelling and pronunciation, they couldn’t be more different. Since the time of Aristotle, romantic comedies have sought to tell a story about two people, and questions whether or not they would end up together as Billy Mernit (author of Writing the Romantic Comedy)informs. They also make us question what it means to be in a relationship and tell us a little about ourselves. The romantic comedies were extremely popular with moviegoers during its Golden Age of the 1930’s as Daniel M. Kimmel (author of I’ll Have What She’s Having: Behind the Scenes of the Great Romantic Comedies) informs us. The good romantic comedies of this time were referred to as “weepies” or “three hanky pictures (Kimmel). Over time, though, the romantic comedies dwindled to the point where nowadays the romantic comedies seem to be dead (Mernit). Today, the romantic comedy is alive and well, but it goes unrecognized due to it adapting. The appearance of the romantic comedy may have changed, but the key elements have not changed. The key elements of any romantic comedy include two characters who will meet and fall in love with each other, a conflict that will tear the two of them apart, and an ending where love has changed the main characters and they will either accept or deny love such as the events of Philadelphia Story.

Despite its name, the Romantic literary period has little to nothing to do with love and romance that often comes with love; instead it focuses on the expression of feelings and imagination. Romanticism originally started in Europe, first seen in Germany in the eighteenth century, and began influencing American writers in the 1800s. The movement lasts for sixty years and is a rejection of a rationalist period of logic and reason. Gary Arpin, author of multiple selections in Elements of Literature: Fifth Course, Literature of The United States, presents the idea that, “To the Romantic sensibility, the imagination, spontaneity, individual feelings and wild nature were of greater value than reason, logic, planning and cultivation” (143). The Romantic author rejects logic and writes wild, spontaneous stories and poems inspired by myths, folk tales, and even the supernatural. Not only do the Romantics reject logic and reasoning, they praise innocence, youthfulness and creativity as well as the beauty and refuge that they so often find in nature.
