Lynn Britton story has influence me to keep practicing leadership. Mr. Britton gave me a understanding of how a leader could get things done by taking action. I feel as though I model the way for many people throughout everyday life on and off the field. I model the way by making wise choices that I know will affects others to want better themselves. Britton stories leaning towards modeling the way motivates me to make my team better so we can all accomplish our common goal.
Also to make the right, timely and sound decisions are another quality of a leader. Setting the examples as I added before is another positive approach to good leadership. This can be practiced by teaching our people how to set their goals. The Leader should work hard to develop the sense of responsibility among his/her people. Another base for a strong leadership is to bring out all the capabilities of your people by making them enjoy the team spirit.
I believe good leaders have the desire and willpower to become an effective leader. Good leaders develop through a never ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience. I think one of a leaders’ main goals should be to inspire their workers into higher levels of teamwork, which can be acquired through continual work and study. Good leaders should constantly be working and studying to improve their leadership skills. Leadership is defined as a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent.
Leaders can have a powerful impact on the futures of many, and the way in which one approaches leadership is paramount to the type of impact one will have. Continual growth in the areas of knowledge I have and seek to acquire, as well as recognizing my leadership style and utilizing my personal strengths to the fullest, is vital to the successful implementation of my personal philosophy of leadership. Answering the question “‘Who are you?’ is where every leadership journey begins” (Kouzes & Posner, 2012, p. 43). My philosophy of leadership would be firmly rooted in compassion. It is my goal to create a learning environment that is supportive, fosters mutual respect and collaboration, and where students and staff feel safe and cared about.
The Importance of Vision & Goal Setting as a Leader In Leading and Leadership, Clark (2014) discusses about establishing and attaining goals as a leader and being able to gain trust from followers. Having a perspicuous vision and being able to recognize and communicate it is very important. A vigorous vision can generate and drive teams and organizations to move forward. As Clark (2014) says, “A vision necessitates people to reach for any obtainable change, grow and improve.” Powerful Vision and Set Goals to Leadership When establishing goals, leaders must impart a notable strategy to succeed and delineate their motive and core values in essence that is notable and attainable. A powerful vision summons and encourages people to situate their vitality in a common ground.
I also believe the desire to lead, charisma, honesty and integrity are all leadership styles might predispose them to be good leaders. Self-confidence, intelligence, knowledge and drive are developed that can be learned either through experience or a passion for any given situation a leader finds themselves in. It is important to find the right balance between listening and doing. Application of transformational leadership to motivate and empower staff Transformational leadership is an appropriate leadership style to motivate and empower staff as it encompasses charisma, inspiring employees, challenging employees and allowing employees to achieve their long-term goals in a personalised manner. It is one of the most inspiring leadership styles. These leaders facilitate conversations between major stakeholders of the organisation. Should any problems arise in an organisation with transformational leadership, I believe that it will be dealt with swiftly and in a manner beneficial to everyone.
