Shakespeare’s plays were written in the 14th and 15th century in England, yet until this day it still has a huge influence on American English class. Why? Well because Shakespeare has a universal appeal with a rich language, complex characters with a theme that is timeless. Shakespeare should be taught more, one play per semester because it is part of American literature culture, it challenges students reading levels and as it expands students vocabulary and enriches their speaking. Because Hamlet is a play that idealistic as it deals with the issues of what it is like to be a human being.Hamlet is a young man who is forced to accept his brutal fate due to cruel human behavior.His emotional and internal struggle with himself is what many teenagers deal with as they mature and try to find themselves. Hamlet is also dealing with the his mother second marriage and him having a stepfather. Today the rate of blended family is increases according to KSL of all remarriages sixty five percent of them involves a children from previous marriages.In 2011 alone fourthy six pereecent of marrages invoved stepfamily.
