Over the past few decades gun control has come to the fore front of debate in politics and the mass media. It's no wonder that in the wake of the recent school shootings and attacks on churches that people are beginning to fear guns. People are beginning to see guns as an object of death and destruction and not as what they are meant to be. While guns are used in war they are not intended to kill innocent people, guns are intended to be used by experienced gun handlers for protection and hunting. When used properly a gun is no more dangerous than a car or a knife, all of these can be used in crime but none of them are intended to be.

The controversy of gun control has raged on in the United States for well over a century. Citizens, gun supporters, law makers and even presidents alike have participated in the debate. The debate has been fought for so long due to a number of reasons. The major reason, however, is because of the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment guarantees the right of the citizens to keep and bear arms. The core motive for people against the ownership of firearms is the amount of violence that can be committed. So, it begs the question – would the banning of guns prevent violence?
The issues of gun control are the subject of much controversy. In the article “The Killer Who Supports Gun Control” by Nicholas D. Kristof (2013), he argues that a strong gun control will yield fewer deaths. Kristof summarizes how the gun itself and the person are responsible for deaths, in order to show how dangerous the combination of the two is.
Every day some news related to gun violence are being heard all over the world. Shooting in driveway, public places, schools, homicide and suicide are some of different types of gun violence. Shooting on people and killing them is a big issue in the world and different comments are provided about that. One of the most important of them is about gun control laws. Stingl (2013) says “The term gun control as it is used in the United States refers to any action taken by the federal government or by state or local governments to regulate, through legislation, the sale, purchase, safety, and use of handguns and other types of firearms by individual citizens.” According to this idea gun control laws should be stricter and people should not be able to have access to guns easily. However, there are many other people who believe this idea is not a good solution and never help. This essay will demonstrate for and against views about the topic. People who agree with this idea consider: firstly, stricter laws will reduce violence and gun control means crime control. Secondly, some research shows people with gun are more at risks of getting shot. Thirdly, guns can always be misused by their owners and finally, stricter law is the best and the faster way to control crime and make community safe. While opponents say first of all, guns are necessary for people safety and protection. Secondly, guns are not the only tools for killing and violence; there are other weapons too and finally, gun ownership is human rights.
Why gun control is needed more than most people think we do. Gun control is needed more because there would be fewer deaths. There would also be a lot fewer people hurt in gun fights or gun accidents. The reason gun control is important is because there is a lot of things that have to do with guns. Such as the way they fire, the way the safety works, and a lot of other examples like that and if you don 't know how they work you need to learn how so you could fix them is something happens and so no one would get hurt or killed trying to fix it. The second reason for more gun control would be for more safety for everyone. If there was less gun control then more people would be getting hurt because people don 't know how to use them. An there
Gun control in the United States has been a major debate for hundreds of years. Many people believe that guns should be highly regulated while others believe that anyone should have the ability to own one. Each side has a plausible argument. Throughout this essay it will be show how not having gun control can increase violence and death rates, the right for everyone to own a gun is not guaranteed by the Second Amendment, and how over usage of guns has played a role in the diminishing populations of animals.
Gun control is starting to become a huge topic around the world. With all of the mass shootings in the United States along with the crime rate towards the federal government, illegal animal killings in South America along with all the crime in Canada. The government is trying to lock down more on gun rights with preventing everyday citizens having access to guns that are military grade. I believe that if the governments start to step up and take control of who can get their hands on guns the crime rate can be reduced which will prevent random killings, crimes, and random use of guns. Adding a gun control law would be very beneficial towards the fact of making the world a safer place to live.
A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. (Amendment II 1791)
The second amendment states “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” The Founding Fathers included this in the Bill of Rights because they feared the Federal Government might oppress the population if the people did not have the means to defend themselves as a nation or individuals.
The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states "a well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
If a stricter gun control law were to be put in place, I believe that there would be more violent crime with firearms. The gun control law would only constrict legal ways of acquiring firearms from American citizen. Criminals don’t obtain their firearms through legal means they purchase their gun through the black market or other illegal medias. A study by John Lott and David Mustard on violent crime trends in the U.S, concluded, “allowing citizens to carry concealed weapons deters violent crimes. . . . [W]hen state concealed handgun laws went into effect in a county, murders fell by 8.5 percent, and rapes and aggravated assaults fell by 5 and 7
You should have the feeling of being safe at school. No one should feel unsafe at school because school is where people enjoy time with friends and learn and study. The evidence is clear that greater gun laws are necessary.
America needs to create restrictive gun laws. Guns are the weapon of choice for violent offenses. Sixty-eight percent of all murders are done by guns and this can be preventable in many ways. One way America can prevent gun violence is by stopping the selling of guns to mentally unstable people. The Sandy Hook shooting was done by a mentally unstable person and cost the lives of young children and teachers. Mentally unstable people could create harm for innocent people because they don't think clearly and their intent is far from just. This can be done easily by creating a background check by their doctor saying they are mentally stable. The selling of semi-automatic guns should be stopped as well. Semi-automatic weapons can shoot many rounds
