What makes individual unique. Is it the name we are given, the personality traits we have or the company we keep. It all comes under identity. The word identity has become the most discussed idea in our society. It is described mostly, to be a word that stands for who we are. Therefore, because of who we are, identity has come to be a word that we use to claim and understand behaviors in our society by us. The identity of us is all defined by our gender. The day we are born we are given a gender. And what our identity is going to be. So that mean we are limited by gender identification as to male or female. Robin got really influence by his granny stories before she dies. But for robin mind, she was still alive and lived in the tall building with skyscrapers. And he would go view granny the way home from school. It was in robin imagination that granny is still with him. And sharing all the life experience with him. Robin didn't have a lot of friends so robin used granny as to escape from reality and make his own imagination world where he felt like he was smart, appreciated. He grows into adulthood and he takes Phoebe as his replacement by giving her the red hunting hat, which symbolizes the role. Both Holden and the narrator grow into new roles and give up their old roles to women. Although, they both give up their roles and grow into adulthood to the same women who helped and influenced them to grow up. These characters helped the protagonists overcome their fear of change and finally turn them into adults.
Everyone struggles with identity at one point in their life. It will eventually happen to everyone. Identity is how people see one another, it is one of the most important things about someone. Identity goes hand in hand with experience. One’s experiences can impact one’s identity.
Social systems tend to reinforce oppression because they are usually static and do not change much over time. Social systems such as family and media are highly problematic for women because they contribute to the gender roles, expectations, and norms. Institutions further gender inequity as it subdues women and nurtures men. Feminism aims to improve the social situation for women, including abolishing institutionalized oppression and inequity and reforming institutions.

In the early days most pregnant women would rely on their grandmother’s silly predictions or other old wives tales to predict whether their unborn baby was a boy or a girl. However, women had no way of knowing the sex of their baby until the actual moment of birth.
