I've always wanted to be a creative. Many of my family and friends say I can be too dramatic at times and that I should express it through film. My gravitation toward film, is the result of my lifelong fascination with storytelling and a steady of movie-watching throughout my youth. There was a time that I was intimidated by the narrow percentage of people that appear to achieve notable success in the film industry. I thought that being a movie director was one of the dream jobs that many aspired to, but few ever achieved. However, as I've learned more about the business of film, I've discovered that there are greater opportunities available in this field than ever before. Filmmaking, is one of my passions. I love art and expressing it. Art moves and touches people in many ways. A film director’s job consists of, “job duties might vary from film to film, and filmmakers might choose to delegate tasks in a variety of ways. But ultimately they are responsible for taking the film from the development stage to the finished product. Filmmakers typically need a bachelor's degree and a variety of related experience. Work hours can be long, hectic and inconsistent. Median pay in 2010 was $68,440 per year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics” (Chron). Based on the data from O Net Online, the knowledge film directors need is, “Communications and Media — Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media. English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Telecommunications — Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems. Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
