The Importance Of Exercise

I chose to use exercise as a way to relive stress. I have not exercised in almost fifteen years so I thought this would be a good place to start improving not only my physical health, but also minimize the stressors of daily life. On day one, I walked around my neighborhood for approximately twenty minutes. It was a nice sunny spring day and I enjoyed breathing the fresh air. The ambience of nature and the solitude I experienced by taking a short break from the daily tasks was refreshing. I did not feel pressured to perform or meet any deadlines during the walk, which was also nice.

I think it not only makes a person more productive. But also makes your body feel good, which in turn helps the mind and spirit to feel well. I am going to continue to exercise each day and if I come across a road block with being able to take the time; I am thinking of purchasing a treadmill. Your body feels much more alive and healthy with even the smallest amount of physical activity. This exercise allowed me to realize just how out of shape and much my body needed exercise. I have also wanted to try yoga or meditation for quite a while. Although I do not have time to take a class, I do have time to download an app, which is something I discovered you can do. I definitely plan on trying to accomplish this throughout the semester.
I like to travel also to relieve stress. I feel experiencing different scenery and nature increases my feeling of well being. Taking a one day camping trip and hiking through the forest is relaxing. Anything in my opinion near water is also relaxing; the sound of the water alone provides a feeling of calm. Recreational activites like fishing, boating, or just sitting by a fire in the evening. I feel all of these things can relax the mind and decrease stress
