I chose to use exercise as a way to relive stress. I have not exercised in almost fifteen years so I thought this would be a good place to start improving not only my physical health, but also minimize the stressors of daily life. On day one, I walked around my neighborhood for approximately twenty minutes. It was a nice sunny spring day and I enjoyed breathing the fresh air. The ambience of nature and the solitude I experienced by taking a short break from the daily tasks was refreshing. I did not feel pressured to perform or meet any deadlines during the walk, which was also nice.
On the second day I decided to walk a little further extending my time to thirty minutes. I actually looked forward to taking a break to go walk. I walked to a

I think it not only makes a person more productive. But also makes your body feel good, which in turn helps the mind and spirit to feel well. I am going to continue to exercise each day and if I come across a road block with being able to take the time; I am thinking of purchasing a treadmill. Your body feels much more alive and healthy with even the smallest amount of physical activity. This exercise allowed me to realize just how out of shape and much my body needed exercise. I have also wanted to try yoga or meditation for quite a while. Although I do not have time to take a class, I do have time to download an app, which is something I discovered you can do. I definitely plan on trying to accomplish this throughout the semester.
I like to travel also to relieve stress. I feel experiencing different scenery and nature increases my feeling of well being. Taking a one day camping trip and hiking through the forest is relaxing. Anything in my opinion near water is also relaxing; the sound of the water alone provides a feeling of calm. Recreational activites like fishing, boating, or just sitting by a fire in the evening. I feel all of these things can relax the mind and decrease stress
Exercise regularly. Physical activity plays a key role in reducing and preventing the effects of stress. Nothing beats aerobic exercise for releasing pent-up stress and tension.
When I read this assignment, my first thought was choosing walking as my exercise. Why? Because my sister has been running for a few years and as convinced me that I could walk at a 5K race. So I have been walking since the beginning of the summer and my first race is in a month. This is also a chance for me to find ways that I could incorporate nutrition into my diet without my immediate family rioting. The benefits of walking will actually help me greatly because my family seems to have a history of everything. All four of my grandparents died with cancer. My mom is a cancer survivor. Most of her siblings have died of some form of cancer. Mom also has had a stroke. My dad, his dad, and distant cousins on that side of the family have had heart attacks. Both my parents have diabetes and high blood pressure. And my mom is obese. I am overweight myself and have been since I had my oldest son in 1997 then 18 months later had twins boys. I have lost 20 pounds since then but slowly because of my lack of motivation to exercise. But now I have a reason to get up and exercise; a 5K race. And my sister to support me and push me to do it.

The feeling of stress is inevitable to avoid and remove entirely from our lives. As we go through life and our stress levels rise, for various reasons, resulting in the feeling of worry, anxiety, insomnia, etc. We search for strategies to assist with decreasing the feeling of stress or to better help cope with it. Coping is defined as “managing taxing circumstances, expending effort to solve life’s problems, and seeking to master or reduce stress” (p521). Individuals perform a wide range of different activities to help manage stress and decrease its effects such as working out at a gym regularly, attending routine social gatherings, and reading books. One stress reducer that our society often overlooks is nature and its benefits. There have been studies on forest bathing, which involves walking a forest trail or sitting on a boulder and observing nature with all five senses, that proves to minimize stress.
Exercise is very beneficial to everyone that wants to stay fit and to keep their health in good shape for the future. I know many people that work out just thirty minutes a day and eat healthy and they are in the greatest shape of their life. So during the times you feel fat and lazy and just do not want to get up off the couch. These two things are extremely difficult for me because of my motherly schedule and my hatred for the awful clear

Exercise and physical activity can be enjoyable. It gives you a chance to unwind, by just enjoying the outdoors or simply engaging in activities that make you happy. Physical activity can also help you connect with family or friends in a fun social setting via a dance class or playing on a basketball team. This coming together could be a reason why exercise is known to fight depression. The definition of stress offered is more similar and can be easily understood by the typical person. The universal definition of “stress,” which has been uniformly described from a wide range of opinions, from medical practitioners to academics, has been used as a means of streamlining the care offered by said professionals in efforts to combat and counteract stress. The articles given have no ethnic bias and can be used by various cultural groups. In relation to the topic, my opinion on it, is that different people have varied ways of dealing with stress. I believe that a person’s personality can make different stressful situations have either a negative or a positive outcome. Therefore, it can be said that one situation might have a negative outcome on one person, while the same situation will have a positive outcome on another person (Bradbury, 2013). Simultaneously, there is only one way to positively decrease the damaging physiological impact of stress like cardiovascular risk. This involves including one’s self in a little recreational activities, such as dance classes and cycling. Although these activities need a lot of time and patience, they are supposed to be very enjoyable. (Denollet, Schiffer & Spek, 2010). A question that I still have on the topic of stress is how a person can cope with stress immediately, especially when using the
Stress is a normal physical response to events that make one feel threatened or upset one’s balance in some way. It comes to us naturally, when we need it. When working properly, it helps one stay focused, energetic, and alert. In emergency situations, stress can save people’s lives; such as with the fight to flight response. So in situations it comes upon us to benefit us and to be helpful. The stress response also helps one rise to meet challenges, and also helps keep one’s concentration.
