As Christians, we hopefully know, that Christ works in our life. Christians know it is through the grace of God that they are saved and forgiven. The Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20 (NRSV) “And Jesus came and said to them, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” instructs us on what we are being called to do by Jesus Christ. “Evangelism in the Wesleyan tradition puts us on a journey in which we abide in Christ,” thus strengthening our relationship with God the Father. If we feel secure with this belief, why do people shy away from wanting to participate in evangelism? Rainer explains that there are a number of reasons why people are reluctant to evangelize.
