Teeth brushed, hair combed, pajamas on, and ready to go. 8 hours of sleep waits. As you slowly fall into a deep sleep, and time passes. The brain actively enjoys hours of majestic journeys and exploration of colors, the possible places to go and things to see. Dreams are the thoughts, images, and emotions that come to our heads mostly when we are asleep. Everyone dreams, we dream every day for hours at a time. If this were all true, why is it that we are unable to recall any our dreams naturally? It could be that we just do not pay attention. The Ancient Greek, agreeing with the Egyptians with the addition of dreams being messages from the dead. Native Americans connect their dreams to the natural world, with everything being sacred and divine. Also there are many stories about the interpretations of dreams in the Bible, saying that our soul goes on a daily adventure through time and space. Although in modern day, it has been said that it is almost impossible to remember a dream you just had. Within 50% is already gone. Within 10 minutes 90% is gone. This happens to be a immense portion of your dream. Yet the question still stands, why is it almost impossible to naturally remember a dream. If the Ancient Egyptian could do it back in 2000 b.c.e., what’s so different about 2000 a.d? Theorists have found physiological and scientific reasoning to why it is difficult to remember dreams. From what we know from history, our ancestors from our ethnical roots were clearly able to remember dreams and even recall them in order to pass them along. It has been said in surveys that recurring dreams are the most remembered dreams for they have been said to have some sort of meaning behind it.
