But the attraction to America lies in its metaphorical beauty, the idealistic view of the great melting pot of culture where ethnic differences are amalgamated to create an anticipated way of life that is inclusive and representative of all that choose to dwell here. While America is a featured pluralistic society in the global unit, there is a dominating culture that requires minorities and immigrants to assimilate into the mainstream culture. It is a hard task. People of all ages have difficulty changing the deep-rooted values planted by the influence of heritage. However, for school-aged children of minority families, even students who are born in this country, it is much harder to become successfully acclimated to the expectations of the western lifestyle. The perspective of the educator is equally important when it comes to overall classroom success. As the world continues to change, teachers are exposed to groups of students from all around the world. Understanding that your students will be coming from different perspectives will help ensure teachers and students do not experience any cultural misunderstandings. Educators must keenly observe any learning patterns displayed by the students, especially if they are culturally influenced (Dack, & Tomlinson, 2015).
